Trying to come up with a semi interesting thread to liven things up a bit.

Having been in this situation myself, it would be good if there was a reference point for people. Interstate skyline guys and their friends and families could use this thread as somewhere for ideas.

We are all from different areas, what is there to see and do that you recommend?

No negative posts please, only recommendations!

Can be state wide and not just car orientated.

Whore it with good ideas people ;)

Ash keep those trademark words out of it unless it turns to crap mate j/k

"d* * s**rch" Would you like to buy a vowel?!

To get us started:

Rialto for lunch on a clear day

Lygon St for an evening Italian meal

Lygon St for an evening Italian meal

China town for a Chinese meal...

I think this is a great idea Alan, could also incorporate some of inark's eating recommendations.

I'll have a think about a few options. The only major attraction near my place is the EPA test station, although there are some nice parks in the vicinity, could make a day out of being defected!

Go for a cruise along the great ocean road. A must do in summer. Couple of nice spots to stop and have a feed (lorne, apollo bay). Good twisties, only its shit when you get stuck behind some old couple from NSW.

Depends what your into...

Casino for a night on the booze, then maybe the strippers...gotta make a little stop in king st when your down. ha

I'll come up with a few more later.

Hrrrmmm....ok,

Sky hights lookout - Mt Dandenong

Soverign Hill - Ballarat

Witches in Britches - W'Melb

Melbourne Ice Arena - Ringwood

St Kilda Pier - St Kilda

St Kilda Marina - St Kilda

Emerald Lake - Emerald

Melb Aquarium - Melbourne

Ferry Terminal - Yarra river

Zoo - Parkville

Open Range Zoo - Werribee

Great Ocean Road

Thats all i can think of atm...

Cycle from Thredbo to Melbourne via the high plains and Mount Hotham with all the camping gear on panniers. Did it with my wife a few years ago.

Also - take a quick look at Vic then go to Qld forever

Healsville sanctuary is always good for tourists. Also wineries through the yarra valley and down towards mornington

Excellent Idea B)

That is already on the compulsory tour of Vic I give the friends and family. It is a very good choice. At least it guarantees a kangaroo and a wombat while they are here.

Excellent work guys and some new ones on Stealth's list I might have to try.

Keep them coming

    • KYBs are typically twin tube, putting them in the lower tier of desireability. Do you just want to replace worn out ones for the lowest cost? I mean, you wouldn't just replace one end of a car, if the rears are a similar age to the fronts, then they are probably nowhere near what they should be, and likely won't be great against brand new fronts. So, to spend ~$800 on 2nd tier dampers, when you could get a decent set of MCA coilovers for <$4k.....? As to the strut tops. 1st up, the Sparesbox site specifically tells you that they are not correct for an R33. Beyond that, why do you think you need them?
    • That's not very Toyota of the Toyota!
    • Bringing an old thread back to life Looking to put some new front shocks in the r33Gtst and the KYB still look ok for a road car. Unless there are any other options aroind that price $200 a shock?  I’d like to replace the strut tops also, is this the correct KYB no. For the strut top, KSM7124?  https://www.sparesbox.com.au/products/kyb-strut-top-mount-ksm7124?srsltid=AfmBOoq-HDru8wSlLnQrhU9gCw_uYdKg8gUQzONY-EQOdnI5iXOWEUjY 341287 appears to be the front KYB shocks part no.  thanks all
    • LandCruiser used to get a fluid flush every 12 to 18 months.   Only because it was about that often the electric motor on the master for brake assist kept dieing and needing to come off.
