Car Covers

I have to park my car in a public carpark (trainstation) , was thinking this summer to use one of those car cover things that cover the whole car.

Pros would be:

Protects paint + interior from sun.

Won't get so hot inside, specially since it's black.

Protect from leaves + bird crap.

Stop a few of the enevitable scratches from park in a public space.

Cons:

look like a total wanker

Might draw attention more than it just sitting there itself.

what do you, think?

i reckon it asking to get keyed. i wouldnt key a car, but im sure there are f**kwits out there who would.

yeh it will draw alot of unwanted attention, just get lots of inside reflective covers

and someone little shit my try and steal the cover and at the same time ruin your paint

I'd thought the same thing about a cover and am currently in the process of designing one that has some stainless steel cable in it (think elastic track pants style) that is then padlocked onto the car so it stays on and is hard to remove.

I'll let you know how I go with it (if I get off my ass and start really looking into it)

I always wondered if your car is dusty and the cover moves around with the wind all day would it damage or scratch the paint eventually?

I guess it depends on how tight the cover is to the car and the type of material you have on the inside of the cover against your car as well as how often you clean your car.
