*sigh* The Caliper Woes Continue...

Hey all,

ok, so my latest problem is this.. The RHS caliper bolted onto the car using the standard stagea caliper bolts, the LHS wont accept those bolts as its a smaller thread and the bolts that I have for them are smaller (see attachment)... My q's are these;

1. Can I use the smaller bolts? (doesnt appear to be enough thread imo).

2. The calipers are obviously from different cars (R34 & R33/Z32 perhaps) - they look identical tho, should I get another one the same as the other side?

um... anything else? I am getting so pissed at this now..

please help!

2. yes. or drill out the caliper accurately so it takes the larger bolt ie same size as the carrier.

I found the same problem trying to do the brake swap on the Z putting 32 GTR calipers on. Head off to the bolt shop to get 2 of the right length and thread pitch.

Really? so its not going to matter that they are calipers from different vehicles?

sorry, I don't know about the different vehicles bit, they might be the same calipers internally still....measaure the diameter of the piston in the caliper and make sure it is the same on both sides....but for sure a matching set would be a better option, where did you get them, can you take them back and get a properly matching set?

As long as the piston size is the same, should be the same IMO because it would put the same pressure on the pad...

Other option, take em back from where you got em?

Got pictures of the calipers themselves?

Mate, SAME HERE

Think this

- bought copper lock nuts

- got SS dump/front pipe

- remove all stock stuff

- try to fit aftermarket...DOESNT

- put all shit back

What a crappy waste of time ey..
