what car, what mods, do you get black smoke? do you see any fuel coming out? what happens when you floor it? sounds like dead 02 sensor without knowing any more information

Hey guys, yeah its really wierd..

mods are 3" exhaust, 3" dump pipe and pod filter..

stock everything else... i took it in to get it looked at they tested it..

the O2 sensor was going nuts, but then he checked another R33 and wa doing the same thing.. i think they are going to change the spark plugs and dyno run it... see whats going on.

is there anyway to tell if the fuel reg is screwed without having to anoy a mechanic ?? any simple checks ?

could be a faulty fuel reg... but even then... i still had 200km's to a tank whe mine died

slap a pressure gauge on and go for a drive.

you'll soon workout if its working.

although, all you do is rev the car while its sitting there and if it belches some nice fuel cloud then its pretty certain.

Mine filled a workshop with fuel vapour/cloud after a good 5 revs. IT was a big cloud :)

I checked the pressure like 3 years ago when i shat one... the fuel cloud i knew from, but checked it anyhow as i was bored.

I cant remember what its meant to be

Are you saying it is using a lot of fuel by reading the gauge?

Cause the fuel level sender can come off its bracket pretty easy. I know mine has done it in the past.

Might be worth checking. Sometimes it is the simple things.

The TV show Top Gear reported getting 4 mpg in a Ford GT40 doing burnouts etc. on a race track. That is about 60L/100kms full throttle on a race track. If you can beat that whilst driving off boost, it can only mean a fuel leak somewhere. I cannot imagine fuel consumption THAT high just from poor tuning.

I was thinking huge injectors with PFC in japan and they replaced the

PFC with a stock computer to sell it but even then it would run like shit and not use that much fuel.

I would say you have a leaky injector/s, a hole in the pressurised supply side of the fuel system. or a V8 holden lives in your petrol tank
