Hey guys, a little while ago i had a little altercation in my car which popped the front bar off and did a little bit of damage to the car (nothing structial) panels etc. Now i know they took out the intercooler, radiator etc to repair it. But i put on the air con just today to try and get the car to well, not be so muggy, and it wasnt blowing cold air anymore, the last time i used it, was before the accident (cant remember when) but it was still cold. Is it standard procedure to regas the aircon ?

i remember my gf having similar sort of damage to her car, and they regassed her air con. I cant find my invoice, but ill be calling the panel beater tomorrow and saying whats going on here ...

If they removed the radiator and intercooler, they probably also took out the condensor (which is 'in between'....normally), which would require de-gassing the system. Another possibility is that the wiring hasn't been put back correctly, eg low/high pressure switch at receiver/dryer may not be connected.
