I installed el dials to my instrument cluster and tacho needle keeps hitting that paper and nothing seems to work, i even glued the paper and still does it, the only solution is to grind off a little edge of tacho needle (for those who installed this will know what i mean)...i pretty much ruined my instrument cluster now and now i got excuse to buy 320km/h dash from nengun which cost around $700, anyone has this on their skyline and what is illumination at night on those white ones and are they direct fit?

when u put those dials over instrument cluster, temp gauge dont work, boost gauge dont work and tacho needle is sticky

Got same prob with the tacho on mine.. although I swear I can't see it catch on anything. Took it back to the shop who fitted it twice and they said it was a cluster problem.

That being said, I read that someone else on SAU had the same prob and when they took off the EL dials it was fine.

Yep the EL dials are nice but they are a pain in the ass.. I had them in my car, tacho kepted catching at 3krpm. I got pissed off and took them out now the tacho is working fine. But the temp is very off.. Oh normal starting temps it reads very high.

I have a pair for sale in the fs threads.. but trust me its a waste of time and money.

i have the el dials... the problem is that you are not sliding them in correctly, hence you are bending the dials and thus creating a "lump" for your needle to catch on...

just make sure the dials are flat, and sitting flat and flush with the original face...

need any help let me know.

i dunno about fitting el dials.. but im guessing its just a flat piece of plastic, like the stock thingies.. ?

why dont u just take the needles off ? slap it on, then stick the needles back on.. ?

if you try that, ive found with the speedo you need to start the car, then stick the needle on pointing at 0.. to get an accurate/workable reading again..

its not as simple as taking the needle off, because u cant without pulling teh damn thing apart...

the needles need to point in a certain direction so that they can slide through the holes without damaging them
