davey_b2001
sounds like it could be running a little rich. But its not a huge issue. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/92166-backfire/#findComment-1661614 Share on other sites
R31Nismoid
Well obviously you changed something... and that was the BOV If you dont want it to happen put the stock one on. If not, live with it or pay for a saf-c and some tuning Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/92166-backfire/#findComment-1661619 Share on other sites
WetGTR
You hear an echo.......... Running rich because of the BOV. I'd say your original one is a plump back version were this new one vent to atmo. Your air flow meter already has sensed the air go in so it provides the fuel for that amount of air. When the air gets vented out and not back in....too much fuel and that's when you get the popping. Even if you place the silcer back in and don't hear it, it is happening, running rich that is. Not a huge issue as it only happening at the time its venting out unless you have an air leak now from the BOV or the BOV is not sealing properly. You'll have to check this out. gt-t_r34
turn it to plumb back if you got the BOV for the right reason to hold higher boost rather than pssch . you wont have that problem. Mr-Toy33
Ride the clutch a bit when changing through your gears and you'll hear it. It's due to fuel being dumped in the exhaust system as well which causes it to pop. bazr33
do you have a hard and soft setting on the blow off valve? if it is, let it idle and give it a blip, if it goes back to normal idle speed i wouldnt worry about it if it goes below normal idle speed, ya keep turnin it hard till it stops . it wouldnt hurt gettin someone to have a look at it too , just so you know for sure theres nuthin sus about it. AD4M
sounds also like your water temp sender to the ecu might be a bit worn out thats what tells your ecu when your motor reachs operating temp. Im pretty sure the ecu is tuned really rich for cold start?? just an idea?
