Hey, maybe I thought it was a bit too quiet around here :P

You don't post in Vic?? You mean NSW? There are a few people who occasionally post in NSW. It's funny but in the Qld. they don't seem to like anyone else coming in and now in Vic too... I've never seen a NSW person tell anyone else they are not welcome in NSW. I didn't even notice that this thread was in Vic until you said that.

Now here's a spooky correlation. Qld and Vic both have more hardcore policing than NSW. doodoodoodoo doodoodoodoo...

Also, I have lived in every state and territory in Australia except for Tasmania so perhaps I just don't understand the parochialism.

Can I rephrase my original post to 'don't be so precious'?

Can anyone combat my original point that people post plenty of other illegal mods to your car but for some reason CF bonnets make them all shy?

Those 740cc injectors of yours Nismoid - make it easy to pass emmisions?

But anyway, maybe you've got a point and for some reason Vic coppers have a thing about CF bonnets. Do they? And why don't you just tell me what happened on NS so I don't have to search their entire website.

ps. this is just a friendly argument ok, no offence intended. It's my self appointed mission in life to question behaviour.

Abo Bob - I have no problems with questions, infact only recently we were saying how dull the Vic section was so a healthy discussion is good.

With a phrase like "what a wank", it was a little difficult to tell who or what it was aimed at. Anyway, no offence taken now.

My point with a CF bonnet vs 750cc injectors. The amount of reports from guys saying they were driving along and towards them comes a traffic car, the car holds up traffic to turn around and persue the forum member. If the driver has a CF bonnet, that says "pull me over, guaranteed Canary, money in the bank for the Government, extra tick on the officers job card for the day". 750cc whilst not legit, dont scream pull me over on their own.

There are not many things like that that are guaranteed. Alloys could or couldnt be an illegal size, car may or may not be too low (unless obvious). Chances are with a CF bonnet, it could be a gold mine for an officer.

Oh and also SAU (certainly Vic, can't speak for other states as I don't know) is trying to create a law abiding, police respecting community of enthusiasts. B)

That was the point I was trying to get accross :P

I have a friend that works for Just Cars insurance.

basically he's told me that CF Bonnets aren't covered in their policies. although bodykits are.

he didn't tell me why but I think it might've been a safety thing.

Maybe

You missed what i was getting at totally with the Vic thing however, i was meaning Vic vs "another section of this forum i frequent ;)"

I love a good argument, you know that :P

A CF bonnet stands out like the proverbial dogs, in couldnt thing of anything more obvious.

Injectors on the other hand do not ;) Not that ive posted about them in the Vic section

We arent talking about emissions here though... Who's to say that i dont use stock injectors on the street and change it for a drag session along with my ECU? :)

NS.com, the guys were posting in thier relevant state section (being vic) about thier mods in thier sigs etc.

Police noted all these down along with pics of thier cars and proceded to go about thier defecting.

Its a big rough when a copper knows your forum name and writes down what mods you have from your signature

In light of that, people are much more cautious, and i cant go into much more detail about things for obvious reasons

I think I have a problem with caution for cautions sake or undue caution.

Although, CF bonnets are illegal because they shatter (supposedly) on impact rather than crumple like normal bonnets so the risk of cutting a pedestrian in half rather than just pulverising them is greatly increased.

I still think I'm right :D:D but I wouldn't put a CF bonnet on my car if I lived in Vic.

See you all ringside for the next one :)
