i suppose we will be seeing the same plates over but with letters replacing numbers. i am not a fan of this. yes it does open up the imagination to different plates but i still think its gonna be crap like majority of the NSW ones that people have done.

I would much rather the plates go on enthusiasts cars rather than car yards.I am also willing to swap for parts.RAC1NG & ELV1S should cover the costs, the rest will be profit.

you've done really well mate, ELV1S is going to make you a mint.

I actually thought about this a bit more.

The value of 'custom' plates now has decreased significantly.

in the past you had to be really creative; eg:

"CAYMAN" becomes "C4MAN", "CAYM4N", "C4YM4N"

The original loses value, and the subsequent ones will never fetch the money the original would - if I wanted CAYMAN i'd not want "C4YMAN" for $1K when the original would be 3K

Also, with so many possible combinations going, say you wanted $5K for a plate like R32GTR, someone will settle for a combination that is similar like "R326TR" for $500.

Further, no point getting stuff like "LS1SS" as the potential asking price is too high a percentage of the vehicle price, as opposed to "GT3RS", which $5K is a small percentage of the purchase price

But ELV1S will score some big bucks though ;)

Buying plates to re-sell them is pointless lol. ELVIS is worth something, ELV1S wont be worth close to the original. Not to mention people would prefer to buy mods on their car than plates for $1000.
