Oil Pressure Gauge Install Help

Hey all,

Has anyone installed an electronic Oil Pressure Gauge before? What is involved? My understanding is I 'simply' remove the old sender, located near the oil filter, and put in the new one.

Can anyone tell me the basic steps?

What size is the threa on the standard one?

I will write up a how to with photos when I manage to do it, if that is more incentive for you to help me.

Yeah thats about it. just remove the old sender and put in the new one for your gauge. Test it all for leaks and wire it all up.

I was just told that the oil kit I am getting (not in stock for 3 weeks) has provision to put the sender, do you think I am better off waiting, or is it an easy job to replace the stock one?

It is not that hard to remove the old one but...if you would like your old gauge to still work, and have the new one i would wait untill you get the oil kit. I dont like that the old stock gauge wont work(dash looks funny ) so if you could have them both working i would go that way.

You will need a sandwhich plate... If you have an oil cooler, your adaptor plate should allow you to take out one of the bolts and replace it with the sensor.

The way i would do it remove the oil presure swith (its a bitch to get to, got to go in from under the car and its below the oil filter, closer to the tranny.

Remove that, then screw in the oil pressure sender. Wire up and off you go.

Id leave the oil filter alone and all.
