had a good day good to see my car is still consistant of last time it was dynoed

only thing when i went out to my car to go home i realised we did the dyno runs on 14psi instead of 16, so i would of made more kw's oh well next time i guess

good to have chat with every one cheers to paul and dark for the photos you cant see the dints in the light makes my car look great

and as ash would say internally gated screamers sound shit :(

i personally would have one external is a different story

cheers

Good effort by everyone involved in this day.

Haven't been to many SAU-Vic events at all so it was good to meet a few new ppl...

quite happy with my 172.7rwkw - considering i've only got pod, zorst and a bit more boost :( Definately gotta get me an ecu...

Hi All,

A great turnout for the day, plently of cars and some new faces too. We had cars on the dyno all day from 10:30am through to 4pm so certainly no shortage of cars. Plently of nice food and some good drinks. For those that missed out it was a good chance to run your car and check out how it compares to others and to also ask some of the finer tuners in melbourne for advice and suggestions.

All in all a great day and a fine SAU bbq. Thanks to all of those for their efforts in this event. Pics @ http://members.dodo.com.au/paul/pics/dyno-...029/page_01.htm

Thanks guys

dark had a video recorder and inark did, not sure if footage will go up. will try and sus it out

Hey Paul, If i remember correctly you had the same power - 181rwkw as on the dyno-mite dyno? Shows that the 2 dynos are pretty consistent - a good thing for comparability :D

nah i made 193 on the dynomite dyno and 181 on the ice performance one, the ramp rate on each was different so this would certainly affect it and probably why i made more on the dynomite one. we didnt have any gtr's run and dave didnt run his car

hmm, how much boost were you running on the ice dyno? Cause i remember you put up a graph with 13psi and 180rwkw from the dynomite one?

same boost, havent changed my boost for like a year now

my first run on dynomite was 180rwkw then 193rwkw some time after

same boost again, just different tune and ex cam gear install (even tho it didnt add any power)

the dynomite is in shootout mode as to is the ice performance dyno.

but they can be easily turned on and off. when it in shootout mode all the parameters are locked and you cant change anything. ramp rate well means exactly that, the amount of "ramp". i believe its how much load is placed on the rear rollers to give the car something to apply its torque to, not entirely sure. but i believe the more or less ramp rate affects the output figure

yes if its run in shootout mode it prints it at the bottom. it will clearly say "shootout mode" and will print the shootout mode settings such as ramp rate, intake temp, ambient air temp etc

Hey all, I made 128.3rwkW in my r32 gtst. I was really happy with that, only mods are catback and pod filter.

Thanks to Nige and Gerald and Ash and whoever else was involved in the organisation of the day - i had a great time and it all went really smoothly.

It was a shame i rooted the calibration of my DFA so couldnt get it tuned on the day. I fixed it when i got home, it was calibrated so the output voltage was constantly a fair bit lower than it should have been, resulting in the car running lean all the way through the rev range by about 1AFR. Ill post the dyno graph at some stage, its quite remarkable how similar the AFR traces are, only shifted upwards.

Thanks to nige again for spending extra time on me and my car on the day, much apprieciated.

And to all those people who say screamer pipes on stock internal gate turbos sound shit, I thought Matts car sounded awesome!

It was pretty funny when the cops rocked up, noise complaints in an industrial estate on a saturday? I think they must have just smelled the wang burgers!

Rhett

cops came cos they thought people were drag racing

its just cos it sounds loud as all hell and the local neighbours would have rang. no biggie, they just came in for a ciggie and a chat, even said cool at the r33 on the dyno at the time

    • I would again like too thank Matt for his help in me sourcing the detachable hard top for the little red car, without Matt's assistance in inspecting it and locking it down, I can guarantee it would have sold before I could get up to see it,  and as that was the only available NC hardtop in Australia, I consider myself extremely lucky on multiple levels To say I'm more that happy would be an understatement And, it is 100% water tight, I drove through torrential rain coming back south, and by torrential, they type of rain that doing 40kph in a 110kph zone was a real thing, and even then, the standing water on the Hwy was deep enough to throw waves I'm also more than happy that the huge "BEASTS" that Matt calls dogs didn't eat me for lunch, I'm sure the sniffs and licks were more to "taste test" me, over being to friendly Now to work out what colour to get it painted, panel match, or gloss black........first world problems are real
    • Actually I might have figured out. Looks like there is a tab according to google images but it's hidden. Silly me.
    • No clips on this one like the other connector. Only that red tab that I can push slightly up.
    • For any loom connector that has an obvious release that resists pushing far enough to unclip, just spray some silicone lube into it. You might also benefit from using a bent screwdriver or small pick to push in the right place at the right angle.
    • Hey all, I went to try and fix my indicator not canceling, but I couldn't remove the clockspring cable under the column so I could twist that green thin. Anyone know how to remove this cable? I see this red tab but didn't have any luck. I was thinking of unscrewing it but wasn't sure if it would cause issues. I did notice for my indicator stalk, 2 out of 3 cables were plugged in but the last cable wouldn't fit in the stalk. I'm getting it's for fog lights. It was like this when I originally pulled it off.
