350 Chev In Skyline

Recommended Posts

There's a few R31s running around with some sort of V8 in them

One Silhouette popped on the R31 forums a few months ago running a twin turbo 308, low 12's or high 11's out of the box I seem to remember, and a rather interesting engine bay shot

85% engineered! Yeah good one.... cant see any mention of any brake upgrade, and im pretty sure the stock aussie r31 brakes wouldnt be up to the task of matching the 5.7L V8!

He's probably selling it coz he got busted and cant get it engineered, or it was going to cost a fortune.

Surely you've all seen the R33 with an LS1 in it??

"Interesting to note that with the LS1 + T56 combo the Skyline now weighs 10 kg's less than it did with the RB25DETT and it's normal 5 speed gearbox.

And, the gearstick apparently lines up perfectly with where it normally should be.

Now, I've always complained that an LS1 in a Silvia chassis is too big and heavy (and I still stand by that) but in a R33 Skyline, it's perfect! The engine bay was made for a long engine anyway and the car is medium sized so this engine suits it perfectly. The only downside is a crappier gearshift quality (the Nissan box is generations ahead) but otherwise, it's a great swap."
