Yes I did a search, No I coulnt find what I wanted.

I have a Cefiro, RB20 making around 220rwkw. Need to know whats the best clutch to put in it, it is a daily driver and does occasionally drift. And I do have a budget. So I want something easy to drive and that will strong enough for the output to give me longevity.

Organic patrol clutch is what I was thinking, thats the only one i really know.

Thanks

Im running an excede hd clutch, its awsome!!! mines the pink series organic... not a bad clutch i might add... though if you give it a hard time all the time i dont think it'll last all that long... your better off getting brass button if you plan to hammer it alot. Mines held up fine so far ( a whole of 3 weeks ) and i got a shop to order it, machine flywheel, and put it in.

Dayne

I got a 5 puck carbon one from Jim Berry with a new fly wheel, and my pressure plate recoed and modded, lot cost me $1200... But thats 3500lb clamping pressure, and he said its good for about 800ish fwhp. Other than being a bit bity it feels like a standard clutch, fairly light.

The 5puk would handle more power with the same pressure plate than say a 9puk. Same goes for a 3puk vs 5puk. Obviously as you lessen the puks you also lessen drivability.

My 9puk is quite grabby and often chirps in first, especially when trying to reverse etc. I would be interestered to see if the 5puk was much worse than mine.

BUT I am running a stock flywheel, its well known the stock flywheels to be softer as a result more grabby than a molly item.

Thanks everyone, yeah its starting to slip quite a lot now so goodbye boost in 3rd 4th and 5th. hey cc how much did you pay??

I think it was about $400? Dono it was like $20 less than the website or something - it's a pretty good price already.

I helped BHDave put it in (Dave = champppppION!)

I like it because when I dump it it grabs, when I dump it ridiculously it doesn't bite harder than I'd be comfortable to crunch into the gearbox. On the other hand if you like to change quick it'll chirp when you want it. I've given it a very good life but I'm sure with abuse it would be ok.

I never actually thanked Cubes for his recommendation either. Thanks Joel - great clutch it's perfect for me.

The poor old pedal box flex's a bit with the 1060kg pressure, one day it will pop.

You serious? I have the same clutch and pedal effort is barely increased over stock. I wouldn't have thought the pedal box would be flexing much.

I'll have to check one of these days.

Yep.. Its quite common.

Nismo sell reinforced replacements for the R33's and R34's.

Bl4ck32 has had his go with his OS Twin plate, what scares me is the OS was lighter than my 9puk 1tonne thing.

I've ran a 800kg organic, it was a little heavier than stock and not too bad, this 1tonne thing is like a dead weight. Heavy sucker, my other half doesn't like driving it.

I found the problem with organics is after a hard launch they tend to get hot a slip a little, I would launch at 4000rpm in first, click second and find second would some times slip depending how aggressive my launch was.

The ceramic on the other hand simply holds on and isn't affected by heat as much.

I paid $600 all up for mine.

If you do go ceramic be prepared to replace your flywheel next clutch replacement. Grab an xtreem lightened thing with a replaceable insert.

Ha I wish I had 800fwhp, it should be about half that, wanted to try and get away fitted for under 1K, Also can anyone recommed a good workshop in the north of sydney to carry it out. preferably a place which specialises in clutches.

So do I. But I had just gone an RB25 box, with the plan for next year to put in an RB30/26, and I dont like doing things twice.

Its in a cef but :)
