Hi Guys,

This might end up to be a long message please bare with me i really need some advice.

I purchased a R33 GTS-T Skyline about 6 months ago. I love the car but i do want some performance upgrades, i just retired my motorbike addiction so i want some serious kick in my skyline.

Honestly i would not be classified as Mechanically Minded. But here goes.

I'll start with the mods the previous owner did to the car:

3" Exhaust From Turbo Back

The engine is the RB25DET - a 2.5litre Fuel injected Straight six with a Garrett T25 style Turbo

Air pod

Front Strut brace

Suspension also has a sub frame diff kit. (what ever that is)

Heavy Duty Clutch

Apexi PowerFC ECU with boost controller and commander unit. (one air inflow sensor seems to be missing)

Have a dyno readout of 287 RWHP

Now first thing is that i dont know of any good dealers that are in Perth. I live North of the river so a local one would be great but i doubt there would be any.

I was looking at getting a Stealth BoV to start off with, and then a Front Mounted Intercooler, maybe a cold box??

Can anyone recommend what performance modifications i should get and in what order.

Now to cosmetics, I got a full body kit and spoiler which i'm happy with. The car could use a new paint job however, it also has a dent in the back right corner. I'm anal when it comes to appearance of my car so this is really getting on my nerves. I was going to get dents fixed and then respray. Got a quote for $1300 to fix dent and respray back and right hand side panels. Or $3500 for full respray and fix dent. However i was thinking is there problems with fixing dent like rust and stuff happening?? Esp if i get dent fixed but i dont respray, i was thinking of getting some Velco Graphics and i was going to make the design cover the dent area, whats your thoughts on this?

So just to summarize what i want to know:

1) What Performance Mods should i get and what order?

2) Whats a good shop that can help me out with my performance work?

3) Do you know anyone who can fix Dents / resprays

4) Do you know anyone able to make and design graphic wraps for cars?

5) Any problems fixing dents and not respraying?

6) Are the plates BaiBai for my skyline likley to get me beat up?

Thanks guys for your time reading this, its much appreciated!

1. Exhaust, 3" turbo back (3" split dump / front pipe combo, 3" hiflow cat, 3" exhaust)

2. Boost Controller

3. Cold air box / cold air intake parition and hiflow air filter

4. Front Mount Intercooler (gtr33 2nd hand or hybrid)

5. Some good tyres on the rear

214rwkw sounds a bit sus with stock exhaust, no fmic, no boost controller

Thanskf or the reply.

It has a custom 3" Exhaust from what the owner told me, has a lip (dont know proper name) on it it curves down toward the floor.

Also i thought the Apexi Commander was a Boost controller?

So the main 2 upgrades i woudl look at would be a Forunt Mount and Cold Box?

Any ideas on how much extra KW that would pump out approx?

Here's a mod list.

3inch exhaust from turbo with hi-flow cat.

then air filter upgrade (hi-flow panel in existing box or pod with cold air box)

then front mount intercooler

then boost (bleed valves are fine and under $100)

then powerfc

- at this stage you'll safely be able to run around 12psi and get 200rwkw

then fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator to support...

then bigger turbo (HKS GT-RS are good if you plan for around 240rwkw)

- at this stage you'll be at around 240rwkw with your injectors at the limit

That's what you'll need to hit both 200rwkw and then 240rwkw. If you want more than this you'll need to upgrade your injectors and get a bigger turbo. GT30's are popular and should be able to take you to 300rwkw with cams.

Don't assume I'm talking crap cause this is my exact setup except I have a Wolf3D, not a PowerFC, and an IPS460, not a GT-RS :P

    • Hi all,   I have been a member here for years and am back to owning an R35.  It's my car and thought members of the community might enjoy sharing my journey.  I am definitely here to join the conversation.  If sharing this content isn't appropriate or it belongs somewhere else, I am happy to have it deleted or moved...
    • Data looks rock solid? I'm assuming you jabbed the throttle twice OR once? the TPS voltage moves up and down twice, however you've mentioned you did it once.
    • Having not watched the videos, I'm unsure, but this may be better suited to the importing thread?
    • Update on this situation: (Forgot to put in my previous post that I bought another brand new pressure gauge and fuel shows the same 50psi) I've deleted all the aftermarket immobilizers and turbo timer shyt and placed all factory wiring back to normal. The problem is still the same and nothing changed, but atleast it's a bit more tidier under the steering wheel. I've also siphoned out all the old fuel and then poured new batch of BP98 fuel (about 15L) into the tank. Nothing changed. Still the same idle. I also changed out the MAP vac line with a new one and, still the same.  So 2 days ago, I thought fk it. I'll just change out the fuel rail and injectors with another set that I know worked well in my brother's R34 a while back. That other fuel rail has the exact same Xspurt 640cc as what I have right now. So I changed it out to that other fuel rail and injectors (new O-rings) and injector harness. Put everything back together, started the engine, 464906286_1624569924763105_5179888796065901094_n.mp4   and yeah... still the same 50psi and idle problem. 🫠 I can also hear each of injector's solenoids running when I put a screw driver to it and have the other end to my ear. I might get a noid light just to confirm pulsasion but yeah, very strange that both fuel rails and injectors put out 50psi.  31-10-2024.csv I've attached it here. I started recording, then started the engine and let it idle with no throttle, then at the end I applied a little throttle and then stopped recording.    So, now idk. I'm going to see if swapping out the brand new R35 coils to my old splits fires will change anything. 🤷‍♂️
    • Hey mate, nice work on the car. Just a quick note, people generally don't like it when you use the forums to dump and run to advertise your YouTube content. If you're gonna stick around and join in the conversation then great, but if not this might not be the best place for you.
