It just activates the dash light if the exhaust is really hot, like if the cat was clogged for instance.

Wouldn't worry about it to much.

If you remove it you dont have to earth the sensor out or even keep the sensor. It only goes closed circuit when its really hot, so you can leave it unplugged altogether and the warning light won't come on.

if you are running a non standard ecu give it the chop.

otherwise persivere

standard ecu or not it doesn't matter mate. all it does it light the "do not park on long grass" light on the dash aka the flamming hotdog light. it has no effect on any of the following:

AFR

Boost

Timing

Anything at all other than that warning light.
