16" Thermo Fan In Crank Fan Location

I just installed my new FMIC yesterday and had to trim the blades of the stock crank fan a little. Ideally i'd like to mount a 16" thermo fan in the stock radiator shroud a couple of cm's from the surface of the radiator.

Im thinking by mounting it away from the surface, the shroud will be able to do its job in directing air flow a little more evenly over the radiator the same way the stock set up is.

Any one done this before or have any pics?
