Backfire

Hey ppl

since I had my JAP made 3 1/4 inch exhast system put back on after driving around with a stocky system for 2 weeks, I notice now massive backfire on every gear change, every time. I put on a XForce mildsteel 3" Hi Flow cat converter onto my current system (the 3 1/4 one), could this be y the backfire is so more common now, due to a shit cat converter?

excessive backfiring may be due to improperly set timing, whip out a light and find out where it is.......

does it lose a fair amount of power due to the backfire?

i had posted up this problem a few weeks ago and alot of the guys said its cos it could be running rich and the unburnt fuel goes bang, hence backfire

to a certian point it is, after that it causes power loss and even engine damage.

Get your car tuned

RB's run conservative tunes from factory, mega rich.

Best to just put out and get a powerFC. Or you can get a piggy back like a jaycar DFA or SAFC
