  • 3 weeks later...

could someone please clarify with a PM if this is ok because it seems somewhat low to me.

had my 1993 GTR dynoed on 4wd dyno 3 months back mods include(all done recently beore dyno): apexi power fc and avcr high boost 14 psi(1 bar), extremely large oil cooler, jasma 3.5 inch cat back exhaust and twin pods. everything else is stock

made 198 all wheel kw and 625 nm of torque...... torque seems good but the kw seem abit low compareing to other gtrs...

please pm with clarification

many thanks jenkies

Apexi Power FC

Greddy E0-1 boost controller

660cc Nismo injectors

Nismo Fuel Regulator

Bosch 044 fuel pump

Turbo back Fujitsubo Exhaust

290.5kw @ all four.

I'm now going to save for some poncams and cam gears, as I'd like to have full boost a bit earlier (current = 4750rpm), and hopefully be able to put a bit more timing into it to make some more power. I'd love to get 320kw or so, which is max i'd like to run on a stock motor.

Ok got poncams 260/260 9.15mm lift...

I did a before and after run on the same dyno... see dyno sheet attached (green line is new power curve)

Pretty sure there's not too much more I can do unless I build the motor or change turbos.

Gday,

Just got my car tuned after being off the road for about 3 years. Ive put an RB26 engine (and an R33 gearbox) in an R32 gtst. The tune is a preliminary one, so ive gotta run the car in and go back in about 1500kms so they can turn the boost up.

The car made 345 rear wheel kilowats on 17 psi and 98 octane. There should be more to come, but after driving it home from Silverwater in the wet, im not sure more power is a good idea in a rear wheel drive application!

The specs are as follows:

R33 RB26 (prepped block etc, compression is 9.0:1)

ARP head studs and rod bolts

General head reconditioning but no porting or polishing

Standard cams

HKS cam gears

CP Pistons 20 thou over

Prepped standard rods

N1 oil pump

Tomei sump baffle and head oil restrictor

R33 gtst 5 speed

Jim Berry modified Nismo 5 puck clutch

Autronic SM4 computer

Autronic boost control

Garrett GT35r turbo with 1.06 turbine housing HPC coated

Tial 44mm external wastegate with 17psi spring

Tial 50mm BOV

600x300x100mm intercooler

Earls 16 row oil cooler

Stainless manifold bought from GCG. Modified with extra support brackets and HPC'd

3.5inch dump, HPC'd and wrapped

3.5 inch Trust exhaust

Walbro in tank pump (255l/hr i think)

Surge tank with Bosch 044 in line (i also used the HICAS lines as fuel lines)

Sard 700cc injectors

Edelbrock fuel reg and modified standard fuel rail

Ford falcon twin thermo fans with 50mm alloy radiator.

I think thats it.

Just gotta get it engineered and registered now.

Now making 380 rwkw on 18psi with slipping clutch.

Car is now running Haltech E11V2 with anti-lag, upgraded fuel system and upgraded coils also just dialed cam's correctly after finding out exhaust cam was advanced a tooth, waiting for re-tune. Should make 400rwkw on same or 20psi boost. New ORC triple plate clutch from CI Performance just installed.

****UPDATE****

problems sorted, retuned, my GTR now makes 424hp@19psi on pulp.

Mild tune for now to assess engines health (it was swung together before I owned it) and then we will lean on it for big numbers. But there is plenty of headroom left in it! :D

Now to the drags I go!! :(

    • If you are fine with China turbos, Maxpeedingrods makes a bolt on turbo. Ive had mine for two summers now and it seems to be holding up ok.
    • Howdy all Im in a little predicament and wondering what everyone’s thoughts are? I’ve had my long block rebuilt and am in the market for a turbo due to my old one having metal shavings from crank bearings (cause of rebuild) go throughout the turbos oil lines and there wheel has a little play. I’m not really aiming for any power, just trying to keep it as oem as possible, but I can’t find a turbo that’s built for the stock ecu or find something that would be a standard replacement. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions
    • How's everyone going? Just a shout-out introducing myself. I'm James, I live on the north side of Brisbane. I bought an R33 that had been left to rot in someone's front yard for 14 years. Apparently, it has immobiliser/fuel issues. Long story short, it's suffering from a seized engine, plus whatever else turns up once it runs. The car is pretty good considering it sat for so long. It pretty much died after being imported. It has a bunch of Jap parts and a full Top Secret body kit. It's painted Fiat Turchese Festival, or aqua blue if you're not French. Another project to throw money at!
    • So the clockspring is responsible for the indicators cancelling on their own? I thought that was the function of that white thing in the center (any idea what it's called?)
    • Can you log IAT? Whilst WTA coolers have their place, doing any sort of sustained run is not one of them There are fixes that slow down the heat soak, like ice boxes, which don't last that long, and interchillers, which are fairly expensive, up grades to the WTA cooling radiator, which may require a bigger pump, and upgrades to the reservoir size,  and upgrades to the cooling fans, but, it all still heat soaks, and takes ages to come down in hot weather  For a turbo, that isn't locked into WTA like my PD blower is, can you not possibly swap to a nice air to air intercooler????, it would be better for sustained runs then, and have alot less things that could go wrong in my opinion
