I've got a cheaper options if you want something to practice on. Grooved drag retread tyres (done by Ben Bray's tyre maker i'm told) with craploads of tread 12mm of tread if i remember correctly, only been used for a few runs at Jamboree and not even completely worn in.

i suggest you fit them on a 17x9inch rim, they clear a r33gtst without rolling the guards no worries
