Well I was just talking to a friend of mine who owns a plastics company. He says those rims could only be used for show, not for actual road use.

If you were to drive on those rims the brakes would heat up the acrylic and make it brake or bend under the weight of the car.

If you leave acrylic out in the sun it gets kinda soft, so with heat from brakes it probably wouldnt last very long at all.

I know the Track spec has Brembos, but I'm not sure if the Touring spec does. We only have access to those two high specification models. Other markets have access to lower spec models which definitely don't get the Brembos. There are 5 models in the USA (Base, Enthusiast, Performance, Touring and Track I think they're called), of which only the Track gets the Brembos. That car is likely a US model (based on the surrounding cars and environment). Or there is a small chance it could be a Euro spec. Definitely not an Australian spec car as it is in LHD.

Well I don't consider myself someone for rice but I thank that is cool as. They can do some pretty amazing things with plastics these days. I work in the mining industry, and we use a special plastic liner for abrasive duty equipment and you need diamond cutting tools to get through the stuff. Would not be supprided if we see this idea running around soon.
