I'm currently looking into a FMIC very soon and just wondering which is the best size to get?

I have a R33 GTS-T with a 3.5" TBE, air filter and currently running 10psi boost.

Is bigger necessarily bigger with intercoolers? I have been told that the GT-R sized intercoolers (I think they are the 600x300x76?) are probably the best size to get for a car under 300rwkw.

Also is it safe to go with unbranded cores or would it be better to look into a more well known brand?

Appreciate any help,

Thanks.

bigger means more turbo lag ... i think.

i have a hybrid gt spec kit on my r33 gtst II and its good. the only advice i would give is to get a kit that is model specifc so you dont have any hassles with fitting the piping.

on the no name cores, i have a mate who has just put his in and upped the boost from 10 to 13 psi and can you feel the difference, boost just holds a lot better.

all depends on budget mate.

theres a hybrid kit on ebay right now, personally i dont think there can be a huge difference on what brand the cooler is, perhaps some minor ones like pressure drop and how much pressure they can handle but at the end of the day all they do is run air through the cores and disperse heat through the fins.

heres a link to that kit... f*cking cheap at that price!

They are a pretty basic kind of part, so if you are only going for a mild upgrade in power then any of the HYBRID versions will be fine. But the HKS, GReddy, ARC ones will be handy because they will fit perfectly and not rub on anything, but do cost alot more. Anything is better than stock!

Point of consideration, adding a FMIC allows less airflow to the radiator so your engines cooling system will be working a bit harder.
