But you havent tuned the AVCR with the Tial wastegate?

I am pretty sure it will have to be retuned to suit the differences between the wastegates.

yea it has to be touched up but it still should hold boost when it's switched off and it's not, i dunno what the f*&^%kn problem is but it's frustrating the shit out me

Cheers

Ok guys

all fixed after spending damn near 2 grand i found the problem.

First i got the car retuned, changed the cat, changed oil, sparkplugs, oilfilter, changed coilpacks, chanhged wastegat, all to find out it was the damn airfilter!!!!!!

2 grand for a Farkin $$140 airfilter all fixed and now pulls like a bitch! got the car retuned and she made 251.9 rwkw off 18psi and we tuned it back to 241.3rwkw off 16psi cause it started runin a little lean the good old RB still has it nin her!!!

Hitman said that once we get the fuel problem fixed should be able to make about 255 -260 safley and about 290rwkw off race fuel on 25psi.

all in all i'm damn happy with the car now and all that's said and done Hitman is a genious when it comes to EMS's

Well thanks for all the reply's guys.

Cheers

by airfilter do u mean that the intake pipe between the maf sensor and the turbo inlet was sucking closed?

by airfilter do u mean that the intake pipe between the maf sensor and the turbo inlet was sucking closed?

Na i got a metal pipe comin off my turbo to the airfilter and cause i got a microguess it just runs off a map sensor. I have no idea why it caused such a problem.

I was takin out the wastgate again to see if it was that. the gasket fell underneath the air filter and it wasn't on the ground, so i took the air filter off and procedded with the wastegate. the wastegate was fine and i forgot to put the airfilter back on, took the car for a drive and it was fine talk about lucky!!!!

Im interested to hear about what sort of revs the turbo begins to kick in. I bought a Master Power T3/T04e 500hp rated and would like to gain an idea about how the turbo will behave on my RB20. Im aiming for 240rwkw. Does youurs do much below 4000rpm?

to be honest mate it kicks in to full boost at a little after 4500rpm can't wait till the gt30r goes in it, should make full boost at about 4000rpm believe me that's a huge difference.

The GT30r has a .63 comp that's why and a .6 turbine.

    • Nope. The seal is in the drive. A new cable would just fill up and continue to convey oil to the speedo head. To check if this is what is happening, take the cluster out, dismantle the speedo and have a look. You probably don't even have to dismantle it. If there is oil coming up the cable, the drive into the speedo will be grossly greasy. I had to manually (and delicately) clean the gunk out of my speedo.
    • Thanks for the quick response mate, and I agree Nismo 555s, Z32 and high flow 2871 in OP6 housing (run by PowerFC) would all be "period correct" and should be a simple, reliable and reasonably quick track car.
    • It is normal for a speedo to read 0-10% high (unfortunately), intended by manufacturers and ADRs (although not in this case) to ensure your speedo does not read low if your tyres are worn. Speaking of which, what size tyres do you have on the rear, and what does they tyre placard say you should have? you can use this https://tiresize.com/calculator/ to determine what % difference that is causing Personally, when I buy tyres for a car I buy a size that will bring the speedo back to being more accurate; it if it reads 5% high I buy tyres that are 5% larger diameter. If you had an electronic speed sender like R33 onwards, the other option is to add a speedo adjuster but that won't work in R32. Finally, you  might be able to find a different sized gear for the speedo sender but that will be limited to what already exists (and I don't know what sizes do)
    • OK...so dumb question to check....do the hi beams actually come on when the push the stalk to engage them (keeping in mind your headlight switch must be at ON as well)
    • Nah it factory manual not sure about ratio but it looks like there’s been some work at the rear
