A crew of us will be heading up to supernats a yearly pilgrimidge we take. Great show and good racing, all put on by a good team and of coarse Ahmed. So if anyone is heading out dont be shy to come say g'day we will be there with the dark blue FC Holden with a v8, and also a dark purple vl commo with a rb20. If any of you drag regulars are going to be there let me know so I can do the same, come say g'day!!

Cheers,

Daniel

Seen your car doing some runs, looks cool and goes well also awesome street car you have there!!!

Old man picked up overall winner of show and go, so it was a long but good weekend, awesome event that gets better and better every year. Hopefully in the future ANDRA and WSID will actually work for there money and prepare the track properly, as alot of people we talked to said it was ridiculousy bad, people like Mark Hayes with the baby blue torana said it was the worst track they have experienced there since it opened!!!

I've been to pratically every single event WSID has ever held (except for motorbike events pfft) and I must say that the Supernats was easily the best event i've ever been to by an absolute country mile.

Their is nothing better than watching some of Sydney's best Rotors against some blown v8's running door handle to door handle. It was also nice to see some decent burnouts (compared to the lame ass wed nite attempts).

Soon as their was a problem on the track (oil down or accident etc) Ahmed was straight out into the pits hustling guys to do some big burnouts or do something crazy. That's exactly how an event should be run, none of this 30min break stuff and then cut things out (or short) because they run out of time.

The Supercruise was tops to watch, their was too much happening at once, if only I could have kept 1 eye on each end of the track I would have been happy. Their were also plenty of babes around the place (i'm hoping someone is going to post some pics up???).

The perfect leadup to the Summernats in 2mths :D

Top event, 9.8 out of 10 (loses 0.2 because it was a hot day).

I agree. It was defnitely the best organised event I have been to at WSID and much better than any of the other Jamboree or import drag events I have been to. There was never a break of more than 15 mins with either burnouts or other entertanment that made for an action-packed day. Well done to Ahmed and the Supernats group.

that bezerkly skyline looked like he strugeld to get his launch right, bogged down everytime i saw it. but looked like it had some pretty mean top end

First time racing EVER and he clocked a best of 12.2 @ 124mph! When I told him what 124mph translates to in terms of potential he freaked out a bit... lol Not bad for some well sorted bolt-ons.

Look for him at every event in the immediate future (I think the bug has bitten) :P

It was a top day and what an event for his first run ever! Talk about pressure to perform  . 12.2 was a good time and 124mph is brilliant! We only got a few runs so there isnt much practise time!

It was an adrenalin filled day and night, with sunburn , laughs and snags as well....

;):D:P:D:P

awesome day, bit burnt now though.  that bezerkly skyline looked like he strugeld to get his launch right, bogged down everytime i saw it. but looked like it had some pretty mean top end

I have to agree this years Supernats was awesome had time in between runs to head up into the grandstands and watch the big boys play little dissapointed though as the heat worked against me all day with some new Falkens I could not get anywhere near my best time.

Did have some issues though with intercooler piping though.

13.9 was the best for the day.

Had fun doing burnouts on the supercruise though

    • Both windows operate normally while the engine is running but start to sag as soon as I switch off.  Does anyone know of reasonably priced replacements or other brands that will fit?
    • Actually PowerFC is probably the easiest to get basic data from, it comes with a hand controller and display so you don't need to remember to pack a laptop every time you drive. It also has a PC based viewing/logging option if required. Nissan used consult on these because back in the mid 80s, ODB was just a glint in a standard's body's eyes.  They switched to OBD shape around 2000 (my 2001 Cima had OBD shaped but not OBD compliant port) With the standard ECU there is a cable and software available to give basic data too, I think it is called Nissan Data Scan or s
    • Given by the sheer number of questions about offset, absolutely not. If you had the information formatted this way: Space from R34 GTT hub to outer arch = 100mm Space from R34 GTT inner hub to nearest suspension arm = 90mm. (making this up) Buying a wheel that was advertised as Enkei RPZ5 Diameter 18in Width 9 Distance to arch = 84mm Distance to suspension arm = 76mm 100% of people would know instantly if it fits. They would absolutely also know instantly how close it fits too, and no questions would need to be asked. You would know you would have 16mm from the guard and 14mm from the suspension arm.
    • Ah ok, for example for the apexi ecu I heard that it's pretty limited with the information it can give you. Also not sure why Nissan used the consult port over the obd2, what the idea there was.
    • Diagnosing with and without is mostly the same. You need to know, as Duncan asked, and what conditions. Car hot, cold, idling, driving, if while driving what rpms, is when you're varying, or is it when held constant.   From there it's understanding what can be causing it. Starting with pretending all of the sensors are correct. Which means if it's going rich, why would it be thinking more air is going in than it is, and under what conditions. So things like if only when under boost, it could be be a loose intake piping joint. It's just understanding the system, and understanding when/how the problem occurs, and then if it's only occuring in specific scenarios, what can be causing it.   ECU specifically, if it's aftermarket, it'll have software you can use, for the Skylines on factory ECU, there is Nissan Consult you can use. Most ECUs have a way to get data from them.
