ok i was in the market for a new pump,

so i was checking up the specs of pumps that forum users have for sale

one guy quotes the 040 as flowing 200ltrs per hr,

however if you check out the fact sheet on the bosch site it only flows 102ltrs per hr

interesting read....

in the end i went with the 975 for my slightly modified 33

[if this is a repost sorry]

Bosch use 'N-Heptane' to measure flow rates as opposed to petrol, which has different viscosity and density (hence different flow rates)

Plus voltage to the pump will affect flow..and the pressure you're putting through the system.

etc etc etc.

When it comes down to it though the 040 has been tested and can handle more power than the standard GTST pump.

i am disputing teh fact that it wont handle the power,

i am just saying that people are saying the wrong things when they sell the part

all flow rates for the 044 seem to be quoted correctly when people are selling pumps, be it heptane voltage ampage issues aside.

just a thought

interesting note from that other thread was that stock power to the stock pump is not good,

i can back this up.

i jave killed 2 040's and one walbro in my car cause the power to it was not constant and good,

each time i would put the stock one back in and have no worries at all.

anyway new relay power system for teh new pump is now being done properly by a machanic,

DOES SIZE MATTER ON PUMPS?????? I HAVE JUST COMPARE THE STOCK R33 GTST FUEL PUMP AND THE WALBRO 341 PUMP AND IT SEEM THAT THE STOCK IS BIGGER THAN THE WALBRO. IM CONFUSE HOW IS THE WALBRO SUPPOSE TO FLOW MORE THAN THE STOCK. IS THIS A GOOD UPGRADE FOR R33???

ease up on the caps.

size has nothing to do it in terms of a Walbro, they are a screw pump...

Although IMO - i wouldnt be using a walbro. Too many people have had poor results (including myself) based on what they quote, and what they actually flow (which isnt a great deal)
