SkylineSII
Hey all jsut did some upgrades to the car i got a sports organic clutch installed about 5 months ago afta my orignal one died.. when i had basically a stock car.. Now i have a car that should be pushing out around 300hp at the wheels and my clutch doesen't seem to b able to handle the power.. always gets stuck I dont take it easy on my clutch either constantly doing fishs's into 2nd and 3rd and jsut driving it hard dont do burnouts but do do the occasinal launch of the line.. just wondering what clutch u would reccomend i was going 4 a button clutch but the mechanic told me it will most prob die as well so he says think about a twin plate one... So any suggestions would be great thanks dont want to go for more money then i need 2 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/94384-what-clutch-do-u-have/ Share on other sites

J-Boy
I'm running a OS Giken twin plate with OS lightened flywheel, great response from the clutch, bites really hard and goes hard. But it is not yer friendliest clutch in congestions....i reckon a Ogura single clutch is good for up to around 400hp. BT revolution imports the ORC clutches, you could check with them if you are interested. I heard Nick's clutches can customise clutches to individual needs too. confuzion
Ive tried a couple.. originally a OS Giken triple plate undampered which came with it which was way too harsh for street for me.. Then went to one of them extreme heavy duty 9puks which lasted next to no time and now a os giken dampered TS2BD twin plate which is perfect but only rated to 480hp Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/94384-what-clutch-do-u-have/#findComment-1704878 Share on other sites
dangerous_daveo
Dude, just go see Jim berry @ RaceClutch, he'll make whatever you want. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Spot on! My 3500lb carbon clutch is bitey as, but feels almost standard. To get his number just google his name. If you get Italia spares, its the same place. Keegs
HKS Twin plate (carbon)..works a treat, easy to use and it wont slip! I have used it in conditions in excess or 400hp with no problems. Although if your a psyco and never want it to slip I have also got a HKS triple plate (circut) clutch that has been used in the car, dont even think of slipping it though..it doesnt happen! BelGarion
im using an unsprung organic button clutch, 243.4rwkw and a bucket load of torque my organic exedy held fine and it got more of a beating than most people give their clutches, its undoing was the torque Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/94384-what-clutch-do-u-have/#findComment-1706442 Share on other sites
The Dan
A 4 button will not let go. Talk to the guys at Nicks Clutch Service in Archerfield. A 4 puk with a 2800lbs pressure plate will handle over 400rwkw. Sure twin plates are good but too much wear and tear on all of the other gear (pedals, hydraulics). The same can be said for the button combo too but it's area of destruction is driveline. - Hookup is friggin unbelievable though. dangerous_daveo
Nicks clutches are good too. Still given the choice Id go Jim Berry. He said a simliar set up to mine was good for 800 fly wheel hp. So Id say that should suit everyone on here. boostn32
ive got a 2800lbs 4 puk clutch from direct clutches, ive had it for about 2 years and wont slip, perfect for drift, but its a gear box breaker, it cost $800 and is fully rebuildable for around $400 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/94384-what-clutch-do-u-have/#findComment-1707074 Share on other sites

Willo
NPC, couldn't recommend my clutch enough to people. Twin plate, light to drive on, and it's good enough to hold a 9.5 second pass in a 32 so it will hold fine for me. «Cyph3r»
OS triple ..... easy enough to use as long as you don't forget about it. Had an OS twin in last car.... it was terrible.
