i havent been pulled over since i got my car.

i drove 2 months without my license ....i was on my L's and drove everyday and never got pulled over...i think becasue my car looks stock

i just drove safely and i guess my suburb (cherrybrook/dural) doesn't have many cops around

I'm on my L's and I only just get stared at.

When we were getting my car from Mildura, we were on a very long country road.

Only myself and the highway patrol officer on the road...

He drove past, I kept watching, then on goes the blinker and the u-turn.

I immediately pulled over.

They just drove past.. Sat behind them 55km's to "Hay" and off they went.

Once me and my gf were driving towards the CT (Parra RD) to go for a nice dinner out. Around Broadway, a cop in a Magna with P plates decides to flag me down. I pull over and started packing sh17... Officer stated that this is just a random road worthy inspection (my ass) and was curious to the size of my exhaust.

he asked me to follow him to Newtown police station (which had another 6-7 imports i.e skylines, rx7s, 200sx etc. - Random my ass). They went through my car and saw everything... Got me for Pod, Tyres and BOV. They asked me if i had a BOV, being me i asked them wats that, they said the thing that made the wosh sound.. i played dumb, so they asked me to rev the car... I was like oooh sh$t...so i did it slowely and the sound went off....

After the whole inspection process and missing my dinner reservation , it turned out to be a really crummy night. Then again the dinner would have been the same cost as the defect fine.

But i think that was bullsh%t, i was co-operative aswell

Oh man! I've been "pulled over" 7 times now, never got a fine, defect or anything. 3 times was a RBT station. Three times they turned on the disco lights and rbt'd me, asked me where I was going, checked my licence. And once they pulled me for speeding, but i got away with it :)

(sighs) Yes, i do wear a baseball cap sometimes, but always take it off when i get pulled over so i don't look as suss..

BTW: I don't own a skyline.

I own a black 300zx N/A. I have owned this car since June this year.

I'm 36 yrs and drive like an old mole (most times). I have been pulled over 6 times in it.

Once for doing 105km on the m5, once for turning right at a green arrow, once for pulling into my driveway,RBT's etc, etc.

Each time Mr Plog see's that I'm an old fart and they then turn defencive. 'Oh', they say, 'do you have turbo's?'. Like I'm going to say 'sure mate, f**king huge ones', not.

I take my zed to plenty of track days and it performs really well (better times than alot of turbo's)

It seem's obvious that if you drive a certain model/colour car, you are treated with suspicion, that is guilty of an act you may or may not have commited.

I'm always courteous and thank them and wish them a happy day.

The trick is to listen to what they say, don't be a smart arse, answer only if they ask you a straight question, don't bullshit too much and you may get some respect, but don't expect it!

I kind of figure that eventually, Mr Plog will see my black zed (and maybe others) and think that it aint worth the effort.

And by the way, I've not been fined, yet!

i;m from that area

get pulled over once a week or two

few cops @ around 12ish on OLD northern road

i have a r32 skyline wheels and alot of suspension and engine work around 260rwkw it doesnt stand out and isnt to loud but ive been defected 3 times for everything possible! and get pulled up almost everytime im in it. i also have a commodore vz ss ute which is f*#king loud lowered and wheels and stands out a lot more than the skyline but ive nevr been stopped once not even for RBT and i drive the ute a heap more than the r32, and they say its random bullsh1t!!!!!!

I have had cops try to defect me twice so far since buying my R32 in June.

Once while I was dropping friends out at the Beach Road hotel in Bondi I had a paddy wagon double park with his rear taking up the intercetion and try to defect me. They went through everything that was shinny. I said that I believed the HKS SSQ BOV was standard replacement for the original to meet AUST laws when the car was imported. They tried to get me for air pod (which is boxed and needs 5 screws removed to undo) but I said it was standard under the box and had the box for airflow reasons and then pointed to my air duct for an example. They also had a go at hight till I pulled out and ruler and showed them it was legal. I was very very polite the whole time I even ask if they were gonna fine me for breaking the 5min parking I was sitting in :(

Other time was on the pacific highway the day after the Lane Cove tunnel collapsed the other week. I was stuck in traffic as the lights were out and a copper walking down the middle of the road went over the car while I was in the right lane in the middle of the traffic jam!!! He made me pop the hood, looked it over and said "nice ride. Take it easy" and walked off.

Funny experience I had turning onto the pacific highway in Chatswood about a month ago. It was about 11pm on a Sunday night. As I came around the corner there was a wagon with 2 female cops in it. I nodded and smiled at them both and popped the BOV and proceeded to drive my friend home.. On the way home I looked in my rear mirror and saw the same wagon. I'm like "Oh ****" and check my speed etc. They turned on the red and whites and when I went to pull over they raced past me and waved lol

Ive had my r33 for a year and never been pulled over apart from breath tests.. and the only thing ever said to me by a cop was "do you have a bov?" answered "NO" he said "Ok have a good night"

If he checked he would have spotted it....

i get pulled up alot.

just recently i forgot to renew my licence and got pulled up for it.

he was kind enough to give me a lift to work (it was on his way)

while i was in the hwy car he had ALL my detailes up on the screen. he showed me that all they have to do is enter the plate number into the system and if its regesterd in your name the whole lot comes up.

ie:your address

car vin and engine no.

colour

licence no. and status

and driving histry

so if youve been abit nauty like me.(4 a4 pages) youl get picked on. :)

AHA i knew there was a catch to that story lol

1: do you wear a baseball cap

2: is your seat reclined so you look like a tool that couold possible wear a baseball cap

3: do you drive through shopping centers in 1st or second at 80 km/h at 2am in the morning and actually think its cool!!!!( in a baseball cap)

4: does your car have stupid stickers (and wear a baseball cap)

5: do you have p-plates and wear a baseball cap

6: have you lost your license in the last year (and wear a baseball cap)

if you answer no to all of the above i bet everyone is laughing at this thread

if you answer yes to 2 or more just enjoy getting pulled over because your asking for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  :)

as for all you p plater basball cap wearing, shopping centre, maccas carpark, 30 degree seat angle. people who get pulled over who are going to respond to this post

i really do love you but i do like a stir B)   :D  ;) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ye man i fit your stereotype, besides the seat, shopping centre and stickers.Ye i find your thread hilarious!!!!!!!

By the sounds of it you would make a great cop. Most coppers are redneck racist k.nts although i do know a few that are great blokes.Ive been pulled over so many times just to get hassled and when they realise im a mature person esp the rednecks and the ones on a powre trip they are quite shocked.Their mentality ie 'if you are a p plater, you wear jewellery, wear a hat ,have an exhaust etc you are a hoon or crim' is pathetic.

The reason i wear a hat is.......do i need a reason??

The reason i have green p is i lost my learners when i was young and had alot of dramas with court etc should have my full license.(havnt lost any points only fines i cop is parking fines.

The reasoning to my reply is that i am a well behaved, mature person that complies with all the rules(road) and the cops want to waste my time because of the way i look ,or the car i drive its so frustrating.

Oh and hers one of my stories-I was drivig home and as i went through the last set of lights before my house there was a cop waiting. The way he stared at me all the way through was as if he saw a ghost.I turned right into my street, pulled into my driveway ,pressed the remote for the gate whilst he pulled up right behind me and turned his lights on,i pulled in as soon as i could got out of the car turned to him and said "whats wrong" to wich he replied "just wanted to let you know one of your headlights is out" i said "thanks " and closed the gate.I thought to myself what a nice cop!!!!pulling me over (or trying to)just to tell me that-i thought you get a fine for that???

sorry about the novel its just i feel so strongly about this issue i get so fired up.

cheers

I got pulled over last night for........ not indicating on a corner. I'm sure I did. He was going to book me for that ANDDDDDDD (I know it would of been my fault) having 5 people with 4 seatbelts. He wasn't rude or anything, and asked if i needed my licence for work, then let me off.

so maybe they aren't all bad after all :)

*Be'z luckY*

    • Update: Tunehouse looked into the problem and identified a wiring issue between the camera unit and the connector. They managed to get it working , but did warn me at some point it will stop working again. From their perspective it is unserviceable and will need replacement. They did some research and found that the new replacement camera would be Approx $1400 supply only (their fitting cost would be $190) . They did provide the part number (28442-JL05B) and a quick google of the part number shows that these are rather expensive brand new (seemingly no longer in manufacture) for the places that still have them in stock, with the used option potentially presenting  the same issue down the track at some unknown point. They are happy for me to supply the part so that they can fit it. Decisions, decisions... I can definitely recommend Tunehouse (thankyou Vee37!). Cost for the diagnosis was as quoted  ($190) , car was ready on time and communication was top notch. Their workshop is super clean and modern, and there was plenty of car candy parked out the front on the day I went.   Would definitely go back.
    • to fix the voltage drop issue I swapped out the old 150amp alternator which turns out is a brand known for having issues and replaced it with the black 180amp alternator beside it
    • For anyone interested, the Way Back Machine has that Japanese website archived with pictures, etc: https://web.archive.org/web/20051023225805fw_/http://www.a31cefiro.com/air_con.htm "Simply swapping the wiring of the harness will not allow it to function properly. For the outdoor air sensor and sunlight sensor, disconnect the wiring connected to CN1-11 of the air conditioning harness from the harness and connect the sensor side wiring to earth. For the indoor air sensor, disconnect the wiring connected to CN2-3 of the air conditioning harness from the harness and connect the sensor side wiring to earth. The connector PIN numbers listed here are the genuine A31 PIN numbers. To avoid incorrect wiring, check with a tester before wiring. Also, disconnect the wiring in a location close to the sensor. The disconnected harness side wiring will not be used, so be sure to insulate it." Wish someone sold a conversion harness to just plug-and-play a Kouki 180sx digital climate control into C33/A31. I'm decent with wiring but feeling kinda lazy about taking this on. Edit: Did some more digging and found a helpful Minkara blog post about the conversion as well: https://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/1831116/car/1360568/2284209/note.aspx "After installation is complete or the battery is replaced, you need to go into self-diagnosis mode and set the internal air recirculation. The way to do it is to "hold OFF with the key on for more than 5 seconds, set the number to 5, then press 卍→C." ↑↑↑It probably won't make sense unless you actually try it (・∀・)." Lol wtf
