Hello

I have a R34 GTT with every things done to it but not the engine, have apexi power fc, ehaust air filter.. but I spent a heap of money making the car look like a R34 GTR

have done all the guards interior , MFD screen bumperbars . wing wtc.

Now I want the engine to go with it, or maybe even the 4 wheel drive

I just want to know if I go RB26dett what do I need? and if I stay with my RB25DET can I get a plenum for it?

Help me, please

stick with your motor, cost of the 26 wont be justified IMO unless you spend $$$$ on it all.

And i guess you only want the plenum for a 25 to make it "look" like an RB26? Even if there probably is a performance hinderance yeah?

Joel, if your car is a daily driver than you will thank yourself for sticking with the RB25. I have one of each of the R33 turbo collection and find the 25's easier to drive around town generally, especially the auto although I drive the GTR because I recently had back surgery so the seat holds me in place better and the wider track and better suspension kit reduces body roll.

Other than the driveability, there are few impediments to the installation of a 26. The cost of the engines though is a bit high. I noticed you didn't mention a larger intercooler which is pretty well mandatory for safer power production.

Forget the AWD installation. It is just prohibitive if you are going to pay someone else to do it. I had a discussion recently at a workshop about a guy who put the awd out of a GTR32 in a VL and the were literally hundreds of custom parts. If there were even a fraction of the parts needed to fit to the RWD variant (no I haven't counted but I have considered the difficulties) it would still be an expensive project.

Make a few searches and look for the discussions that are available on the subject. There is nothing wrong with what you are attempting, but if what you want is a GTR you would be more satisfied with the real thing.

put rb26 shotpeened rods with forged pistons in your 25 bottem end and you will have a really strong engine at very minimal costs!!! Thats the advice I would give you if you ever considered the rb26 trasplant. Also as far as plenums are concerned I would run a trust greedy style one that is made for the rb25 head witha 75mm throttle body, they look great if thats what you are after!!!??
