the easiest way to tell is by looking at the rear where the skyline word is on .. on a series 1 its same colour as the signal and reverse lights .. but in the series 2, its same colour as the body .. if you look inside a series 2 .. it has 2 airbags .. when the series 1 doesnt have any ...

the differences are twin airbags, front bar with foglights, bonnet, interior trim is a lot better looking, better rear wing, switch for electric aerial, slightly different dash and the centre piece between the reverse lights are painted body colour. Overall they are a much better looking car:thumbsup: :)

Joe,,,you had a good day today buddy....

the illuminated skyline plate is a nissan option when you buy a new skyline

So is the fact that I have no ABS(Thank God),no side skirts,,,but do have the Cool S2 front bar, extra lip with functioning fog lamps(also factory Fitted),,,dual air bags,,,factory fitted Remote central locking,,,I'm the 2nd owner. 1st owner optioned what he wanted,,,, Should I stop now,,,,.

R33 S2's could have just about any option the buyer wanted. I even have a switch in my centre console called "Light Reduce". Got no idea what it does,,,,I forget to get my mate in Japan to ask that question,,,,.

No difference, people keep saying there is a difference. there is no plastic, the part numbers are the same through nissan. how can it be. anyone else want to clarify

fark know why they didnt bloody make it ball bearing for frigs sake.

anyways, dood, please search the WA forum for this question i think we clocked 4 pages or 5 or something stupid like that. all the info you could ever require to answer this is in there.

lata

g'day Joe, havin a nice day there are ya

RiaZ

do not quote me on this

but

S1 = Ceramic Inlet Wheel on turbo

S2= Plastic Inlet wheel on turbo

this has been said many many many many times before

and i have this funny feeling if not me but sumone will say it again

in sum other post

I also think the S1 looks better when it's kitted up. IMO the S1 and S2 stock kits both look like shit and should be immediately replaced by aftermarket ones. I prefer the GTR style headlights on the S1 too.

BTW my skyline word at the back is red, but I think the guy must have painted it or replaced it as mine is a 93 and there's no way that is one of the hybrid S1/S2 cars that they made in 95.

Sir R33,,,,No switch,,,it lights up when parkers or headlamps are on.

    • Hey all, not sure how active SAU is anymore but will ask away anyways. Just wanted to get some experience on the 2008 model GTR CBA model.  I've hit that age in my life (43) where I'm like fk it time to get my dream (midlife crisis) car. Looking at importing one in and seeing if these can be reliable if the main flaws are fixed up. Plan is to keep money aside to do the following straight off the bat to future proof it: * install a stage 1 rebuilt trans with all new bits and pieces.  * install a new Bellhousing from the later model GTRs. Or potentially an upgraded stronger version like MAD or ATR. Besides the above two things and typical maintenance items anything else you'd recommend doing.   Been speaking to a few people and the engine on these are very reliable apparently. But keen on the view of the community here. Hoping to find a nice grade 4.5 with low mileage in Grey. I'd go black but swirls too easy. Look forward to your responses and feedback. Cheers
    • Do Alan and Keith work on Skylines now? I remember buying stuff from them when I owned my Ralliart Lancer a few moons ago. Definitely genuine guys and be excellent if they dealt with the skyline platform as well.
    • Hey all, I'm Gaston from Sydney's West.  I was a member on here when I was a younger lad and owned a mint R33 GTS-T. Ended up selling it and getting married having kids (yadda yadda) we all know how the story goes. Now I'm back with the intention to get my midlife crisis (dream) car ... a R35 GTR.  You'll see me about asking questions and searching the forums. Good to be back and can't wait to get back an Import again.
