hi ppl

if i was to use the factory amp for the rear speakers would i connect rca preamp or speaker out from the head unit to the amp inputs??

yeah i have replaced standard front and rear speakers with clarion after market ones. i have bypassed the pre amp in both the front doors and the rear (under the rear parcel shelf). the factory pre-amps look pretty piss weak as they usually power 25 -30 watts. you have a big chance of over loading the pre amp with higher watt speakers, distortion from under powering them is really annoying.

in mine i have:

front 180w clarion splits feeding off after market amp

rear clarion 160w 2-way splits feeding of head unit 50w by 2

and a 12- inch sub in boot in sealed box bridged 2 channels

1000 watt peak power 4-channel amp

the set up is sweet and is ample for a car its size.

cost me about $900 and installed it myself.
