turbo timer

Recommended Posts

after driven hard between 2-5 mins or even more

my turbo timer is one of the newer Greddy Timers

so like many other timers it calculates a countdown time according to the rev's cycles or sum shit like that

the harder the revs cycle the longer the countdown time

or sum shit

Andrew,

My personal opinion are that they are a waste of time, unless you have driven around a track then I don't think that there is any need, and if you drive it hard then just let the engine idle for a few minutes before switching it off. I know lots of high-horsepower cars that don't use them, just another unwanted bit of rice.

Well they ARE convenient if you need to get out of the car in a hurry but you dont want to turn the car off. So in that sense theyre good, i generally idle my car down out in the car park across the road because the neighbours go spastic at me for doing it in the car port. So my HKS timer rarely gets used. But it came with the car, so i no complain.

I wouldnt call them unwanted rice, but more a convenience like, power windows, adjustable seats, power mirrors, a cd player etc.. Shall i go on? :)

I made my own turbo timer from a Jaycar kit, cost me $35 all up, it's completely concealed. NO ugly switches/boxes and no rice... just the way I like it....

They're convenient ? yes. Rice? "each to thier own"

I don't like the look of them. Mine is hidden under the steering column WAY outta reach.

joe why buy one?

i have two suggestions!

1) tape record yourself making the pShhht noise or wateva custom BOV noise you want then play it through ur stereo with the speakers on full volume and your windows down!

2) Drive with your windows down and make the psssht noise with ur mouth as you drive past people!

there you go home made blow off valves for N/A

hehehee

oh well revert to option 1

but you may need a remote to conitnously play the blow off noise through your stereo!

otherwise you'll have to keep reaching over to pause and play then rewind pause and play !

:D

option 3 GET A TURBO CAR hehehehe
