I have Dunlop 3000A 235x45x17s at the moment. They seem reasonable. I havent hadnt with noise, but that hasnt reall been a concern for me.

Before that had Goodyear Eagle F1's, which were 215x40x17 from memory. They were pretty awful in the wet, but seemed quite decent otherwise, however they wore quickly. Id tend to agree with Cubes, although I didnt have a lot of profile and they didnt have a lot of tread and were fairly slick as it was, so that could have had a lot to do with the tramlining.

Before that had Michelin Pilot Sports. They were the best I've had so far. Wore well, were good in the wet, decent in dry, and quiet.

thanx so far guys. Although the term 'tramline' has me a little bemused!!

I bought the F1's last nite, just for the rear, will do the fronts with same in 2 weeks, (unless the tyre proves to be awful!!).

Noise has cut down drasticly, at most speeds......but they're just not gripping yet!!

Few more blockies should sort them out, I hope?

Thanx!

The F1's I ran were good in the wet as far as wet goes but dry was hrmm ok.

I honestly found the el cheapo simex to grip better in the dry. Every other area of performance the simex fail. :P

Tramline is when the tyre grabs the 'ruts' in the road and pulls the car to one side or another. I felt it more so under braking.

Hmm. Really?

I thought the tread pattern was kind of unusual, in that the grooves werent particuarly deep, so at about 40% and less tread they were quite awful in the wet.

Man!, One thing for sure...............they are bloody deep grooves.!!

I'm amazed that they could be so quite!!!

Your pic is infact the tyres I've got, but they look like they're already worn out, compared to mine!~!~!
