Cleaning The Inside Of An Intercooler

Hi all,

Just a quick question, on my first motor my turbo sucked up an air temp sensor and basically all the blades from the turbo went into the intercooler, and basically i left it like that and that was fine for that motor...

However since im putting my built motor in there soon i want to get rid of everything inside that core that could end up into the fresh motor.

Also any other ideas on how to get that crud outta there as i dont want to be changing coolers...

take the cooler off and run heaps of water and de-greaser through it. While your doing this try to shake the cooler so if there are bits and pieces stuck in there it will try to lodge them loose.

But....you will never know if there is still a piece or two lodged in there that with the new engine and possibly higher boost decides to come out and make a new cooler at ~$1,000 cheap compared to another rebuild..

Sorry for being pessimistic, but if it was me I would not dare tun that cooler unless there was a way I could be 100% cedrtain it is all out.
