Sydney Window Tinting Group Buy - From Only $150 Per Car

Recommended Posts

That looks so much better than before

Has anyone had troubles with the authorities with 15% tint on their windows. I wanna get mine done in 15% but don't wanna get done for it and have to pull it all back off.

Might give Greg a ring and organise to get mine done.

Yep.. im loven it!

NO troubles for me so far.. lol.. *knocks on wood*

so what is the legal limit of % you can get for the windows in NSW?

I can't decide between the 15 or 30, is there a middle ground thats darker than 30% but still legal?

cheers

ps booked in for next week

  • 5 weeks later...

As far as i know 35% light throughput is legal for your front windscreen

darker is ok for rear windows.

reflective vs non reflective which is better?

i take it that since it is the 30th this great offer is over? also would seeing how alot of you got the illegal 15% tint would that void insurance?

I have spoken to Greg and this offer is still available.

The closing date for this group buy has been extended to December 31st 2006

Hey btw when you get a chance to get pinkslips done,

Do they check the percentage of the tint? to see if its legal or not?

Because I dont have tint at the moment... but I recently got pinkslip done for rego, even though I didnt pass because of tyres, i saw the guy with some gadget thing and it had tint on the side of it.

Wonder what was that?

Maybe that was just for something else.

I plan to get mine done next month before summer hits

I have never heard of anyone checking tints during a pink slip

Does anyone have inside shots of the 15% tint?

D I F that looks insanely dark from the outside.

I can take one today if you like.. its not that dark.. 5% would be much worse its quite sexahhh.. haha.. you can still see inside the car, i just took those photos on my phone and on a very overcast day.

For those that Are interested here is a section from the RTA about window tinting.

I have attached the full Vehicle Standards Information as well.

Authorised Examiners at Authorised Inspection Stations (AIS, 'pink slip' stations) are required to check window tinting as part of the annual safety check inspection.

Tinted film that is damaged, bubbled, discoloured or that has deteriorated in any way that adversely affects the drivers view must be removed. Film residue (ie. left-over film adhesive etc.) must also be removed.

Rear vision mirrors must be fitted to both sides of a motor vehicle if the VLT of any side or rear window is less than 70%

Since 1 August 1994, NSW law has required that newly tinted side and rear windows maintain a VLT of at least 35%. When replacing window tinting which provides less than 35% VLT (ie. tint applied prior to 1 August 1994), the new window tinting must provide at least 35%VLT.

    • So, when are you trying the new GR86 or BRZ?
    • Uncle Duncan Yeap, FI Interchiller  Works well, normal IAT's cruising with the WTA only went from 50°c+ to 25-30°c with the interchiller  Before, when on it hard, the IAT would see 80-90°c, now, the highest has been was around 38°c IIRC IAT is measured under the blower hat I recommend it for the street or strip where your only on it hard for 10 or so seconds, but it wouldn't be efficient for sustained track use as it would heat soak from the AC turning off or whatever it does during WOT to protect the compressor It really needs the AC running for it to not heat soak and keep the WTA coolant chilled My WTA coolant temps when just cruising is around 2°c
    • Hey Mark...sorry to interrupt your career change to hair dressing... but...did you ever fit the interchiller to the commodore, and if so how was it? And, who made it?
    • I've been pondering this, I really enjoy the convertible thing, for me, it's like riding a motorbike, without all the issue of riding a motorbike, mainly, my old sore arthritic joints getting beaten up, and, being able to do it in shorts and a T-shirt and not needing a helmet and all the other gear required, especially like wearing jackets and pants in the summer, or needing 6 layers of cloths in the winter, or not having wet weather gear handy when your 100km away from home on the bike when it decides to start raining As for the hard top and its Coupe look, whilst I do lose all that open top feeling that I really enjoy, from my experience with the NB with a detachable hard top, the cabin is a much nicer place to be, the difference in noise for one, a hard top quietens down the interior, alot, with the soft top up or down it's pretty noisy, which, after 5 or so hours, can get tiring But, as you stated, the detachable hard top totally changes the look of the car, in a really good way, and for me, the look of a detachable hard top is so much better than the PRHT which looks more like a after thought with its weird bulbous rear roof line For me, the minimal effort of putting in on, or storing it after removing it, is well worth the time and effort for the look alone And yes, I'm sure the next owner will be grateful for it as well.......
