N I B
Ive had a good run with them but need to spend a lot of time with a die grinder inside to remove turbo killing dags and to help the gas out the wastegate to stop over boosting. R31Nismoid
GCG $1100 i think. price you pay vs what you get... excellent. They were crap a while ago, with cracking and stuff, but lately they are are top quality. All reinforced and stuff. Ive seen one on a car here for 12 months now, no issues with cracking etc Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/95149-rb25-high-mt-manifold/#findComment-1723316 Share on other sites

Ive seen one on a car here for 12 months now, no issues with cracking etc <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The better quality manifolds are made in TAIWAN, the shitter ones are made in CHINA that are prone to cracking. Our manifolds are made in TAIWAN, and we have not had one come back in terms of cracking and warpage Thanks Tarek RACESPEC Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/95149-rb25-high-mt-manifold/#findComment-1723993 Share on other sites
R31Nismoid
doesnt matter where one comes from. Its about the thickness of the material, the welds and the supporting brackets etc. As long as they are all decent it doesnt matter where it comes from Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/95149-rb25-high-mt-manifold/#findComment-1724023 Share on other sites
browny
Ditto, can't see why country of manufacture matters at all. If I was in the market for a manifold, then I'd really be budgeting about the money that the GCG one is going for. Sure if I can get one for cheaper, thats good quality and I'm happy with then it's a win, but I wouldn't buying something that a POS just because I want to save $500. An extra $500 isn't big money in the scheme of things. R31Nismoid
it matters when you try to make your product look better Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/95149-rb25-high-mt-manifold/#findComment-1724365 Share on other sites
32vspecII
it matters when you pay your workers 40c a day and only spend 6$ on materials for each manifold Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/95149-rb25-high-mt-manifold/#findComment-1724590 Share on other sites
RACESPEC
Guys I have experienced this first hand when I was over the, the raw material in both countries is very different, techniques of manufacture are very very different I'm not promoting not only my products but others, i sold the cheaper chinese stuff when i first started, and the comebacks i had was ridiculous, just a skip into TAIWAN and there level of products is much much better and many people will vouch for that. Browny, Where do you think the GCG ones come from? and the Answer is not Australia. Do the tests yourselves as we have with TUNEAGENT and you will notice the product differences straight away. Most Chinese Manufacturers can not guarantee the grade and stainless thickness, once again, not hearsay, first hand experience. browny
it matters when you pay your workers 40c a day and only spend 6$ on materials for each manifold Are you trying to turn this into an ethical debate? Does this mean you always buy Australian made products? Racespec, What I'm advocating is that people don't buy on price alone, or country alone. IMO quality is more important than either (to a point), as is knowing that someone genuine is going to be there if you have issues (which happens with even the "best" products). If you think I'm not championing GCG's product, i'm not, I think I know where they come from, but that's really only a guess. I really don't care where they come from if it's a good product. What I'm suggesting is that people look at the options available and don't get too carried away with country of origin or saving a couple of hundred bucks, which really is SFA in the scheme of things. Personally I would look at the Aussie made products. There's one that sells for similar to GCG's that I think looks the goods. R31Nismoid
so are you trying to say that a GCG product is not of "as good" quality as the ones you get? oh please. for manifolds there is no problem. Some products come out fine, some dont. Ext gates/turbos etc are shocking. Just gotta have a look around and see peoples expiriances Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/95149-rb25-high-mt-manifold/#findComment-1726084 Share on other sites

Guilt-Toy
From what i hear the new ones are good but the older ones were cracking. I purchased one and we had to spend 10 hours cleaning the dags of weld from the inside so it does not destroy my GT3540. Also had to get all 3 faces machined and we welded a bracket to brace the wastegate pipe to one of the runners. Have not installed it yet Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/95149-rb25-high-mt-manifold/#findComment-1728534 Share on other sites
RedDrifter
I bought one from ssautocrome. Plenty of support brackets and its seemed to have good quality welds etc. No crap inside of the unit and I no trouble intalling it. Has anyone else got one of these? Cost me a little under 500 delivered with a split dup aswell. Does anyone know much about this company at all.
