I pilot an R33 SII with the stock airbox. These radiator guides actually impede the airflow to the stock airbox since the intake snorkel sits on top of the radiator support?

hmm this sounds interesting...i'll wait to hear bass junky's response before buying 1 of these as i'd be putting it on a S2 R33 as well

Depending on the design of your front bar, normall the guide actually tilts down from your radiator support panel.

The guide will actually scoop air INTO the inlet duct of your car.

You can then use some foam and guide the air into that duct.

BUT, if the duct does look like blocking air getting to the inlet duct, I can include a scoop section on the guide to allow better airflow to the inlet duct.

Send me some photos of your front bar on the SII with the bonnet up, looking at it from the front.

my cars still on its way, but ive got the pics they took in japan for me....stock S2 front bar...

and sorry if im completely wrong, but looking at my pic, and then the pic you put up of the guide, it looks like it blocks the airflow to the radiator through the grill ? :S

yeah like i said, im only going by what i can see. do you have a diagram of how they guide the air or anything? might clear it up for others and not just me...

thanks

the snorkel bolts to on top of the radiator support beam, as opposed to the radiator guide which will bolt onto the side of the support beam, so it shouldn't restrict flow to the snorkel.

if postage is under $15ish (which will then make it cheaper than UAS) and it fits a R33 S2 with this grill, then put me down for one.

This is the UAS one, you can see the snorkel is above this air guide.

thanks dan, but what i meant was that the radiator itself looks to be blocked...

like in my pic u can see the radiator through the gap...and the guide covers that?

im probably wrong, as these have been designed to improve air flow etc, but i just cant see how atm.

is their some sort of support on the front edge of the guide? or is it just bolted on at the radiator support?

i'm interested for r33 s2 style front bar and grill (same as lordsnipes pic)

I don't think it'll be that much of a prob. The radiator is huge, and unless you have a HUGE FMIC which completely covers the radiator, i don't think you would have any problems in regards to cooling.

Whilst there are supposed benefits of cooling (such as air not being able to escape through that gap and forced through the radiator), I'd think it's more of a cosmetic item than performance.

i thought the whole idea of an air guide was to trap and force the air thru the radiator?? so thats exactly what its doing by sealing it off.

in ur first pic bass ur guide seems to be flat where as the uas is angled, are you able to make it angled??

ill wait till i see the final design before i say yes.
