Rubber Seal Around Chrome On Windows

im talking about the that rubber seal bit that is attached to the chrome stripping around the windows it helps froma good seal against noise mainly. mine has fully biodegraded .....has anyone every replaced and where did u get it from ...it looks fairly tricky to replace ......i took it off my drivers side and no water gets it .....just a little more noise .

Mine has been glued on the drivers side before i got the car. I did the passenger side about 2 months ago cuz it was peeling off.

Just get some clear glue and fill the inside, then hold it in place with tape for a couple of days (can drive around while it is on). Then when it is dry use ur finger to rub off the visible glue.

And assuming its LONG gone? Say when you took your weather sheilds off?

yea ...i dont want to want glue mine back on cause thye are cracking and falling off .....the inside is generally ok ....

might contact nissan maybe ....its pretty thin rubber ....looks pretty delicate

maybe get in touch with a panel beater? they may know of a substitute, or clark rubber?

you don't have to have the exact type of rubber, think about how thin the stuff nissan gave us was,

rubber + chrome + glue = NOTHING. IT DOESN'T STICK. HAH

btw - i bought a window seal rubber to chrome adhesive glue from supercheap, works like a charm for about 3 months then i have to redo it

I was thinking of a car glass shop. Or a re-chroming place? Im going to get it done at chrissy with a few other tidy up things.

yea i went to clark rubber ..and they didnt have anything ...and yea glue is the other problem ...trying find stuff that will stick! .......i might just take it all off ...seem to work ok on the front drivers window ....
