I have just fitted the SBC Spec-R, and it's great. I haven't had time to fully set it up, but it took 5 mins to get it near enough on the road. And the spiking is easy to control with the gain setting (just have to play with it to get the optimum turbo spool up vs spike)

For $1000 i'd hope the colour screen job came with the same dual solanoid as mine, and if it does i'm guessing it will be just as good (but with a colour screen, and aditional imputs).

I would look at an ebc that adusts duty cycle in real or learned time rather one that you simply set a fixed duty cycle.

This prevents boost drop on cars with small turbo's.

Some off the top of my head are the AVCR and Blitz SBC-iD

My rb20det would drop boost to 12.5psi, the blitz sbc-id held what ever boost i dialed in all the way to redline; with a second hand hks ebc that only allowed a set duty cycle to be dialed in, boost tailed off, as did bleeders.

AVCR Spikes alot?

A friend of mine has one on his RB30DET that runs a small rb20det t3/4 highflow thing. That holds boost rock solid without spiking, I was quite impressed how well it works with the lack of spiking.

It was setup by the tuner so that may be something. :)

AVCR spiks alot.....so i'm looking for another one.....maybe blitz is the one i have to get instead of hks

yer i dont pretend to know how to set my Avcr up, but for an around $100 tune my shitty turbo doenst spike at all...on the graph mode it shows it holding 1.1 bar flat on the 3Lt.

I guess it all comes down to tuning...
