I thought instead of going for a cruise on a Saturday night (although that may be possible afterwards) that we could look at doing a go karting event at Kingston Park Raceway & then as suggested by chaos that we also do a dinner after the go karting event.

These are currently the 2x options we have.

OPTION #1

Meet: 6:00PM

Date: Saturday, 3rd December

Cost: $45.00 per person + $2.00 for helmet hire for those that don't have a helmet of their own.

Session: 2 karting sessions (this is 2x 10 minute sessions around the track)

Dinner: 7:30pm (or after we've dinner at Kingston Park raceway) at the Lone Star in Springwood near Springwood Macca's.

OPTION #2

Meet: 6:300PM

Date: Saturday, 3rd December

Cost: $70.00 per person + $2.00 for helmet hire for those that don't have a helmet of their own.

Session: 4 karting sessions (this is 4x 10 minute sessions around the track)

Dinner: 8:00pm (or after we've dinner at Kingston Park raceway) at the Lone Star in Springwood near Springwood Macca's.

Also, those that do not have a license to drive the go karts. Cost for a license is one off $5.00 fee.

The dinner is optional though.

Location:

20 Mudgee Street,

Kingston, QLD.

I've set the above times for the possibility of heading down to BWCP afterwards.

Either we can head straight to Springwood Crazy Clarks for the 8:30PM departure after the go karting event or go straight to BWCP from Kingston Park Raceway.

The Kingston raceway track is 1,100 meter's long allowing us to race till our hearts are contempt in these small little racing karts.

So... Post your interest and if we have enough, we shall go ahead with this event.

I did not want to do this on the MSC weekend as I'm sure we are already going to have to fork out enough $$'s for petrol, to get to the MSC location.

i'd prefer option 2, these things r soo much fun :P

Is that price with the twin engined ones? caus last time i was there (3 months ago) we didnt need to purcase a license to drive the singles...

Option one is the go. After 2 sessions your kidneys will beg you to stop anyway. At least thats what happens to me, but I only just fit into those tiny bloody seats!! As to Lonestar afterwards, ribs are ALWAYS a good option.

    • HKS trigger kit should be very easy to integrate with a Link. It's a 36-2 crank trigger. Hard part is finding the motivation to take off the timing belt and everything on the front of the engine to install it. You also need to cut out a hole in the oil pump housing so the sensor can read the trigger wheel. Changing out the cam sensor for a 24 tooth setup is probably good enough but as others have mentioned depending on what underlying assumptions are changed it becomes more of a problem. Reading the crank state off of the cam is an abstraction that works in the general case, but if you have an edge case it makes less and less sense. There is a GTX2860 gen 2 that can take a compact 5 bolt housing so it's direct bolt on but I'm not 100% sure of what's involved. Peak compressor efficiency drops off a bit on these turbos vs -5s, 77% vs 73% but you get way, way wider region of operation. The -5s have a really strange surge line in their compressor map that is all over the place. If you think the hot side on the -5s aren't open enough you can try the Tomei T550B turbos which a local tuner seems to be happy with:
