all my speakers are mounted behind the doors in their factory spots, except for the tweeter which is flush mounted further up the door.

Front Doors have Dynamat in them to make them a bit more solid.

Amp is located behind the rear passenger seat as its the only place big enough to be able to mount it.

Note for all: 0 guage wiring is a head f*k to get through the firewall!!

This is my sub box i built from scratch.

i cover it with my cargo barrier now that i have it, but i built it before i got them

I can't get the hosted images into the post for some reason, the link isn't showing in the gallery

welcome mate :)

my stereo install was going ahead when i bought the car 12 months ago but ive had that many dramas ive left it as it aint important, currently just have 2 x 10' subs in a box with 2 alpine v12 amps mounted onto the box, and thats about it.

plan is to make a full rear setup with fake panels and some fancy lighting etc :D

if you need the rear useable I would suggest a false floor and a sub in the wheel well. Invert the tyre and you should be able to make the box removeable so you can keep the tyre in place. how good are you with wood work?

cablling IS NOT a problem in these. remove the drivers inner guard and there is a decent sized grommet there. (same as a 34 ,33 and 32.)

I'll be putting a stealth system in mine, and the only obvious part will hopefully be just the screen/dvd head unit. Speakers will go in the factory locations, but I noticed that when I removed the covers for the (factory) tweeters in the A-pillar, that there wasn't very much room behind it. Hopefully this won't be a problem...

I will be putting a sub in but hopefully working with the installer on a design that doesn't make it obvious that there is a sub sitting there in the boot, for those times when the boot is opened and/or the luggage cover is rolled back or removed. Might try and make it so that it fires inwards towards the rear strut tower well at an angle to give it some loading...

im pretty good with making up custom installs i made a custom setup in my old car which pulled 147dB and will be using all that gear in the stagea. currently the install is stealth with splits in the front and rear doors.

you shouldn't have a problem mounting new splits in the front a pillar i pulled the a pillar cover out and fibreglassed them up from the inside so i could remount them using the kenwood covers so they could still remain flush mounted.

Is that your Stagea in your avatar? :)

I'm looking at putting 2 * 12" Subs in the back with an 800w Monoblock amp - amp will be mounted in that compartment on the side...sk's idea ;) Easily removable for when I need the space ;) Up front will be Pioneeer Kevlar Splits and coaxial in the back...Should be sweet :D

Cheers,

Chris

I'll be doing the same, splits in the front and co-axials in the back, but I'm not sure if I'll use a 10" or a 12" sub. If I can get away with a 10", then that's the way I'll go...

I think I'd like to set up the sub box on one side of the boot, not along the back seats like Terminal's ones. Time (and money) will tell what path I eventually take, though.

PION%20306CBOX%20Sub.jpg

One of these amps.....not new though ;) Another good deal 600 Watts x 1@ 4 ohm load 1,000 Watts x 1 @ 2 ohm loadAmp

I havnt figured out anything for the rear yet.....bugger it. My question is, do I have to run the splits of an amp? :D Alot of my mates dont, just wondering whether it is really worth doing?

Cheers,

Chris

Yeah those kevlar splits are exactly what i have. $279 is an awesome price for them too.

My mate had the amp for about a year and wasn't using it, so he threw it my way and said happy birthday (it wasn't my birthday) and so i socred a 5 channel V12 amp

    • Haha luckily we don't have emissions, inspections, or any laws against power adders here. They only thing they somewhat keep an eye out for are ridiculously loud exhausts.
    • Just wanted to pop in an update on my setup. The CD swap has been great, I love the mazworks housing for the overall simplicity. I ended up sealing my trans tunnel with a thin sheet of aluminum reused some of the holes on the trans tunnel, and laid some window sealing EPS foam around the edges. Works great, really quieted things down and sealed up the car.  As for the power comment. Right now I am also running about 650whp. with the way the bell housing is attached to the face of the transmission I have zero doubts it would be fine, mainly because the input shaft and main shaft bearings are seated into the bell housing adapter. This means the load is NOT on the bolts to maintain the power, rather into he casing of the bell housing; Yes the bolts are doing some work there, but with both shafts locked in zero worries.  End of the day, the Mazworks solution is the easiest and safest. no need to take your trans to a shop to get milled perfectly, it fits with minimal clearancing, and you can use all your existing clutch and flywheel.  Driving wise the CD has been great compared to the big box, I'll probably swap my final drive at some point. The serial 9 shifter is gooooood, my only qualm is how tight it is, it takes a fair bit to get use to, 5th and 6th are a bit eh/hard to find at times, but maybe I need re-adjusting, and I think my clutch master is very tired and needs a rebuild.
    • If you are keen, have a look at my build thread. Car is for sale for the right money or straight swap for a F80 M3 LCI.
    • Welcome mate.  No point in over thinking it, buying any one of those cars you mentioned is not a smart or logical choice with the availability of many "better" (re price to performance) cars available to you.  The heart wants what the heart wants, buy whatever it leads you too.
    • Hey everyone! Im so grateful to be apart of this community and ill do my best to be apart of this. Firstly, i'm not disclosing my real name due to in real life circumstances surrounding my privacy and public image (sorry lol) Secondly, The only thing personal I am willing to share is that I'm from Sydney and a descendant of one of Sydneys largest mortgage firms. I got gifted my first ever car, a 2022 Porsche Cayenne and I love it to death. Ive been driving it for about 5 or 6 months now and honestly Im so grateful for my parents for gifting me this vehicle. However recently I've been working my ass off to afford my second car (which I need help deciding soooooo community help me out please?). Once decided, im planning to try modify it myself. Recent I've been thinking about getting a Skyline, particularly a 25GT or GT-V, yes I know overrated as hell, but I'm also considering a Chaser which I recently came to love. However my dream is to one day own a 180SX (So hard to find clean versions and im not really into importing).  Lastly before I send this off, I want to apologize if I sound tacky or pretentious. I try not to and want to genuinely learn from everyone and anyone. (Im no expert in this area) Thanks for reading!
