Just a note on the results.

Firstly the times from Blaise's Bunny aren't counting towards to outright competiton due to the large number of people that missed out setting a time.

Also due to an error in the way half of the 1st set of times were recorded in the Long Wang we only have used the times from peoples 2nd and 3rd runs for this event.

Hopefully otherwise we dont have too many concerns about times given this time around.

Cheers - and congrats to Scotsman and David M on their class victories.

I am chuffed with my times! :D

Out of the box liberty with 2 mods. An SAU group buy window tint and my private plates :(

How come Ryan isnt down as the winner of the 2wd slalom yet won it 3 times? :(

we were under the impression that only two of the timed runs from each course would count and not all 3. but bleh, you get that. still had awesome fun.

Im fairly happy with my times & surprised at some of the people i beat. I was worried i'd end up behind Scott after seeing some of the times he was doing.

Jarrod, is that 39.6 on the first motorkhana the one when i was in the passenger seat? i think i know how you got such a good time.

Andrew, if you make any modifications to the results could you change my car to R32 instead of R33.

because all three times i touched the same cone, bit dissapointing but ah well. it was so much fun, i like the slalom with the triangle up the top, makes it a bit harder for the big HP cars and gives the slower cars a chance to get up there.

I thought if it wasnt moved it didnt count.

Ah well, with more DECA's next year you are bound to get on top at one. :)

he did take out the fastest time on the Short Wang in 2WD comp which is a mighty fine performance given it is a bit of a HP track.

But he probably was one of the few guys who didnt come off a little over that hill. I did some video footage there for a bit and it seemed most guys didn't quite have the wang to keep the foot fully down over the hill.

quick question... on the long wang... if hypothetically I don't go through the chicane, but instead plough through a (single) cone, does that count as a 5 second penalty only?

depends on which single cone we are talking about.

If it was the one on say the very edge of the road (A) or (F) it would be 5s for the cone being hit + 10s for the 2 other cones you went on the wrong side of.

(A)___(B)___( C)

If it was just the 1 cone in the middle ( C) or (D) then yes its just 5s.

Does that make sense?

Well thats how it should "technically" be.

It also means if you went "off road" and went around all the cones then you'd have missed 3 cones which = DNF.

Sorry Jarrod didnt mean to drive that slow on the long wang kinda didnt know where i was going :) so went a lil slower... althought the short wang was alright kept similar times to yourself... and again well done to all that won events :D...

makes good sense, cheers. The way I was thinking, line up cone C, go over it, take a 5 sec penalty and not reduce your speed in the chicane.

Technically as long as you clock the whole course in 39 seconds at top speed (as you won't be slowing down for chicanes), if you take a 15 point hit in penalties for knocking 3 cones, you could have equalised with Chris for top time :)

if you lost 5s per chicane then its a good plan but there's no way that you should slow down that much to go through those chicanes that you'd gain 5s by hammering through!

LOL, unless your car doesn't like changing direction rapidly :D

    • @soviet_merlin Thanks mate!  Nothing too major but will hold me up for a while. I've got lymphomas to get taken off the back of my neck and the middle of my spine which always conjures scary thoughts!  It sounds worse than it is. Yeah great, conjuring more rabbit hole deepening , just what I need! 🤣
    • I'd argue the F50 kit I got is very good value. For ~2k I got the calipers (refurbed condition), adapters, pads, brake lines, rotors, and top hats. I think you'd be pretty hard to get Evo/GTR/350z brembos + the additional hardware for similar money. Used market for a pair of front calipers alone I've seen tend to run anywhere from $1500-2000 depending on condition.    That said, something like a GTR or 350z brembo is a lot easier to adapt to the Silvia.
    • Is there a significant price difference between the Evo/gtr/350z brembos vs the F50? Looks amazing.
    • I was actually being a tightarse at the time LOL... My OCD is tickling me into running a 2nd 8AN Teflon hose all the way down and removing the 2x OEM hardlines. My other side of my brain is telling me to run 2x hardlines front to back (also acts as a fuel cooler, so win win).
    • As I mentioned in an earlier post, I had some trouble with the Silvia's brakes dragging back in 2023. I managed to sort it out then, but the same problem came back to bite me late last year. Just take a look at the picture – I had a feeling the handbrake was acting up again, and I was right. Anyway, I'd been wanting to upgrade to bigger brakes for a while. Not that the Silvia's brakes were bad, but it was more of a "want" than a "need", you know? It was funny, though – at the time, I couldn't find any Evo Brembos, 350Z Brembos, or GTR Brembos for a decent price (of course, tons of them popped up online after I already bought my kit!). I ended up going with an F50 Brembo kit, which came with adapters, brake lines, 330mm rotors, and top hats. The F50 Brembo caliper was used in a few other cars too, like the FPV. I also decided this was the perfect opportunity to ditch the Silvia's ridiculous rear brakes and that awful handbrake (some of you were definitely right about that!). I picked up some R33 calipers and all the necessary bits – rear drums, backing plates, and new hardware to refurbish the calipers. Of course, it wouldn't be a project without a few hiccups. Turns out the brake master cylinder was playing up and basically (to put it simply) keeping the brakes engaged. I had it overhauled, and after some adjustments, everything was working again. The whole process took a while, as you can imagine. To top it off, the front right wheel bearings were shot and needed replacing too. This is a rare occasion where I'm posting an update while it's all still fresh! These pictures were taken just this afternoon.
