Hey guys, I purchased my N/A R33gts25 over the weekend and i'm firstly looking to change the stock exhaust/muffler... I've done a bit of searching around the forums and reading... But still a little unclear on some things...

I'm not interested in power modifications ( but don't want to lose power ) as I'm on my P's and it isn't worth the hassle with the new restrictions... i'm just after a nice drive with a nice sound output. That being, nothing too loud that gives you a head ache... just something quiet that kicks in a bit when you give it a nudge...

Specifically on sound, something that has the stock sound of the twins im using at the moment ( that ferrari'ish sound lol ) with a little bit more depth would be awesome... Pretty sure most of you know the sound i'm talking about.. i'll try get a sound file of my current exhaust..

So, should i be searching around for something like this http://www.autobarn.com.au/default.asp ( a complete system )

Or should i just look around for mufflers?

Any help is greatly appreciated

if you want a really nice sounding exhaust that is not loud, get a "remus" or a "hi-tech" system. be prepared to pay for it though

^^do they make bolt-on systems for NA skylines?

HiTech will probably have a bolt-on system for Skylines.

And, relatively speaking, they're not that pricey.

mm also.. i just got off school and was walking down my back lane.. and my neighbour had a box saying kings springs on it.. performance etc etc i was like errr ok.. kicked the box.. and it was full.. thought to my self.. no way.. opened it up and there's four in there... could they be damaged? Or should i go get em?

They probably wont fit a skyline mate, unless they are specifically for your model dont bother. go order some king springs, or k macs like i did, and then i got pedders shocks to go with it. Do it right, do it once.

Bit hard to tell if they would fit by pictures, you actually need the code number and ring up king springs and ask what car theyre designed to fit... most likly if they arn't skyline they wont fit as they wont sit in the bottom and top of the strut properly.

Mine are 3.75" lowered kmac's.... they are a much wire and thicker spring by the looks of it. Though bit hard to tell by the picture

I've got this on my R32 GTS. Fujitsubo stainless extractors

got tuffy's mufflers in syd to make up a 2.5" cat back with a highflow cat to suit it.

lol TUFF MUFF :lol: Is there anywhere in aus you can get extractors like Fujitsubo or whatever to suit skylines (not custom made)?

not that I know of. cheapest way to get one is to convince someone who has an N/A who's turboing their car and has aftermarket extractors to sell em to you

only $1300 The reason they're exxy is because their custom made items, ie you place the order and they make one for you.

X-force make some ok mufflers. you can't beat jap for quality though imo. Either way, make sure you get at least 1 resonator in your exhaust system.

Will extractors do anything extra than a system from the cat back? I'm getting 3" from cat throgh two hotdog mufflers onto..was thinking a cannon, but currently undecided.

I heard that if you have the system two big you actually lose power..? T or F?

If its too big, yes, you will lose power as you still need some decent backpressure on N/A's. However there's also no point fitting a high flow cat back exhaust when your extractors don't flow for shit. Your system's only as good as its smallest bottleneck.

ok, understand that, but is it worth doing the extractors? Much more power than the cat back?

extractors are worth doing. if you do them with a cat back exhuast then you get the best gains. pipe sizing for N/As are pretty much rb20e/de 2.25" and rb25de is 2.5" that is mandrel bent.

when i put my rb30de in i will keep my current 2.5" mandrel bent exhuast that i currently have on my rb20e. its far to big to be good for any low down power
