thing is i didnt  lol. EVeryone found it quite amusing how little i had :)

My car was all top end, had nothing remotely interesting until 4300rpm :(

It was slideways off the line, then skating for approx 1/2 track where it settled, 2.1 60ft...

Timing was so out that day, damn heathcote

Abobob, just wait till you kill the diff.

You never know. It could hold out for a while. If your nice to it there is no reason why it shouldnt really.

Occassionally you do get a few odd tickets coming out, but generally there pretty correct!!!

Abo bob,

Mines the opposite.. Stone cold it will open wheel really badly.

Once it gets a little warmth in it tends to LSD up a little better. :S

Thats how they are meant to work arent they?

Let me say that Robo's 2530 was pretty quick!!!!! we had a couple of little goes in gear and i was impressed, gear changes had nothing to do with it, he was pulling away from me in gear every gear! i may have had more topend but it would have taken a long to time to catch him if ever!

I wouldnt have minded meeting up with you again before you changed your turbo though as that week just before i met up with you, i had installed a silencer valve in the exhaust (cable type at the cat) and found that it was not fully opening!!!!! as soon as i took it out the car pulled heaps harder!

Having said that, Robo's car was bloody quick and the midrange was amazing! i dont doubt the 244rwkw i have or the 250rwkw Bass has from the Racepace dyno, as Ben mentioned more boost with the 2535 wont produce much more peak power just way more midrange!!

It is about my rebuild but it was also supposed to be a repository for NEO info which it has turned out to be.

Shonen - you're obsessed with highmount.  I'm more likely to put nos on it than a highmount.  That said, a 2835ProS would be nice but I can't afford anything atm.

I've already got the highflow so I'm sticking with that due to $$.  I've got some cams going in though so that should make some difference.

I think the 4 doors have the viscous LSD and the 2 doors get the helical LSD which means I'll be up for a new diff at some stage.

haha adam im obssessed with screamer pipes....not necessarily high mounts.

Naws eh ???? yeah I want to get it sometime in the future too...especially after talking to andrew (merli)

Ok now for the serious questions.

Noticed in the first post you said the rods are same as GTR rods ??

Is the design just the same or the material as well ?

Heard that its a popular upgrade in japan to change to GTR crank and rods in high power RB25s.....so I guess in the neo I just need to change to a GTR crank if I choose to go down that path ?

Also, whats the difference between the normal Poncams and the Type B ? Never heard of the Type B before...are they still a bolt on style cam ? or are they like the Procams for the rb26 where some modification is needed to fit them ?

PS

get a TO4Z.....

haha im obsessed with that turbo....it just rolls off the tongue...

the type B are just one config of poncams. for example for RB26 they have two poncam sets, type A and type B. the type B set is a pair of 260s where ars the type A is 252/260 i'm not sure what the numbers are for the RB25 though.

I think type A is 254/260 In/Ex for RB25 and type B is 260/260.

When I say the rods are the same I mean they are exactly the same. From the same place, same time, same material etc.

I think if you put a GTR crank in you need different pistons too. Just put a collar on the RB25 crank and you will be right. There's not enough difference to matter.

Installed some new gauges on the weekend.

Also finished the front bar. It's just hanging on there at the moment.

Car looks good with the mesh Adam...very pro looking job :)

I think you'll find all of the older autos are viscous even the coupes...the series 2 moved over to helical for both manual and auto.

I can have hit and miss open wheeling with my diff, it's not even that thrashed yet

BTW I've joined the dust collecting team as well, the ECU is in Perth being sorted, should be back in the car Saturday :P

we have a nismo 2way centre at work. (only the centre not the whole diff)

(came in the boot of a 34 we got in)

im sure a reosonabe offer my boss will part with it.

if not use penrite "limslip 85-140" to keep that helical diff in check.,it works in fd rx7s.

I think type A is 254/260 In/Ex for RB25 and type B is 260/260.

I don't know if the tomei cams are the same for the NEO but the poncams in my 33 RB25 are both 256... I didn't think they came in a type A/B etc... I am pretty sure you can mix and match whatever you like...

nice front , thats the nismo aero bar right ? and its on a 4 door ? sweet!

Actually, it looks to me like poncams for the RB25NEO are..

Type A = 252/252 9.15

Type B = 260/260 9.15

hey guys,

i'd like to chip in - i'm an R34'er in the midst of doing very similar things to abo bob and bass junky (by the looks).

anyway i've already posted here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...8&t=93572&st=20

but thought you guys might be interested in my pre-mods power run recently.

it made 198.5 rwkw.

spec:

pod

full 3" exhaust (BATMBL split dump/front/cat and Blitz cat-back)

gt2876r-core hybrid turbo from MTQ

turbotech bc running ~11PSI

absolutely everything else = stock

it's obviously running pretty rich and i guess bumping into the R&R from the stock ecu?

anyway should be interesting once everything's done. waiting for the powerFC to arrive next week then the fun begins. final spec will be:

pod

full 3" exhaust

gt2876r hybrid

14-16 PSI

powerFC

blitz LM FMIC

bosch 040 pump

nismo 480cc injectors

Z32 afm if needed

who knows what power. a result like bass junky's would be awesome. a nice chunky torque curve and a decent time at willowbank is what i'm after. :D

cheers!

That is the Nissan Aero bar on my 4 door :D.

I think you are correct Luc. The R33 poncams are 256's but R34 are 252's which is where I went wrong.

R33 = 8.5 lift; R34 = 9.15 lift. Yeah baby! That extra half a mm says it all, at least that's what all the girls say...

Ah yes, but you have solid followers with clearances, the R33 RB25's have hydraulics with zero clearance. There is not a lot of difference in the valve opening.

:P cheers :)

    • Thats why I stay far, far away from Eastwood. only go there if I wanna eat Korean food
    • I have to agree like, yesterday, I was driving down the warringah freeway towards the bridge when this jackass driving a beaten up Honda civic cut me off so suddenly it made me almost yank the wheel to avoid him hitting my car. Honestly and he had the NERVE to flip me off (or some other gesture Idk). Im a calm guy, but really some people just dont deserve to have a license, let alone be allowed to drive on densely populated roads/highways. If youre gonna cut through lanes at least use the damn turn signal
    • HPA do an interesting video on tuning, and Adrian shows on the dyno, moving from 10:1 to 12:1 (And I think even 13:1) and the power moves SFA. However, a couple of degrees of timing has a HUGE impact. Exhaust side of things will more be the length of the exhaust and how many bends and turns you have. The straighter you can keep it, the better. By a lot. Oh, and getting the diameter right. Bigger isn't always better. Going to big can actually lose you power.
    • I have to say, most people I see on the road fit the bill of atrocious drivers. Whether they be cowboys in their dual cabs, bogans in the Commodores, or the soccer mums. Pretty much most people on the road put zero freaking thought into driving. Barely look further up the road then the end of their bonnet, and have never even thought about how catastrophically wrong shit can go, by doing what they all deem as normal driving. Especially their late braking, racing to stopped lights, and sitting half a foot off the bumper of the car in front at 110km/h. Wanna know what's even better? By the time their kids get to be old enough to learn to drive, they've already got in the back of their brain what is normal driving, how annoyed you're allowed to get at people etc, and then their parents who actually have zero freaking skill at driving (Even though they constantly say "I've been driving for 20 years and never had an accident!") teach the little twerps how to drive, or should I say, how to make a car move. Literally watched a parent teach their L Plater, on a 4 lane freeway, that you just slam the brakes on, and push your way over, even with a B Double bearing down on you, and that's how you should drive, rather then, just keep going to the next exit. Same shit happens all the time for side streets etc, watching numpties pull dumb shit turns pushing across 3 lanes of traffic, rather than just go up the road another 30 seconds, and take the next turn that'll get you to the same location... Oh, and the damn right lane bandits. Or the retards driving along with their headphones in, and can't hear the ambulance or fire truck right up their ass about to run them over...   Pretty much, people drive on the road, like ego centric f**ks, and don't actually think how dumb shit their driving is, how it could easily kill them or someone else in a split second, or at the very least, how they're driving is contributing to all the shit they're bitching about on the road, like shitty congestion!
    • Yeap, not as doorty as ITB's, but alot more doorty than before, induction sound great when I'm up it 🤗
