Bit of a late reply to the actuator modding (haven't been on for like 2 months), but i've found the easiest way is to increase the existing curve on it using a hammer. After I'm done, it looks exactly the same as before I touched it. Neat, but the rod is shorter.

for those wondering like me well why dont I try swapping on a op6 housing onto my stock rb25 turbo

don't (well get a turbo shop to do it for you)

I managed to knock the vg30's rear wheel off when I was removing its rear housing

so asked the guys fixing my head to put the vg rear housing on my 25 turbo for me

only if the felt very confindent seeing as what had just happened to the donor vg30 turbo

picked up my car from the mechanic got one free rev to 3,000 out of it and bang (whistles, looking around from mechanic's)

I wasn't going to bother discussing causes with them

we all know why it let go and they weren't going to be coming to the party

5 hours later (thanks to Huddy and Jarrad) I now have a stock op6 vg30 turbo on my 25 and it is awesome cars got alot more top end than before

however Ive also gone from a 1.5mm h/g to a 1.2mm h/g at the same time so I cant honestly tell you what turbos and whats comp ratio

the vg feels alittle laggier 200 rpm max only though (the higher comp ratio maskes it though) and now pulls cleanly all the way to redline which it didnt before

got a bit dull after 5,500

ps my led taillights and ganadors look phat !

sorry for the long post :D

Switching housings on turbos is not that difficult if you do it the right way. If your mechanic is dodgy, he'll just take your money even if he knows the job will go badly.

If you just try and smash the housing off with a hammer or lever it off with a long metal bar, you'll stuff it up 110% of the time. Everytime, you'll smash the wheel or chip it.

There is a correct way to do it. I've done it so many times. It's not what i'd call easy, but if you do it right, it'll be fine.

I use a wire wheel to scratch all the rust off the join of the housing and catridge. I have this bucket of penetrating oil that I put the whole turbo exhaust housing into for about a week.

Then I loosen the bolts (usually quite nice after the soaking). And I use the bolts to push the housing off.

Before I start the pushing, I use a benzo torch ($20 from bunnings - lasts ages - can do like 20 turbos with it).

Cheers

Is there certain brand for this dump pipe I heard the Just Jap one is shite it apparently doesn't fit right

I got mine custom made by Carline mufflers in Mount Druitt. Call Bruno he's pretty good. It wasnt all that expensive either, cant remember the price he charged me though.

I just replace my turbo with a Hi-flowed GTT and VG-30 rear.

Then added:

Z32

Fuel Reg

Exhaust Cam

Hi-flow Cat

My older mods:

FMIC

BC

Walbro 255L

Split dump

Apexi Power FC

3" Exhuast Tip

16 PSI

With a phat 261RWKW

Tuned by Cool Ben at Unique Autosports.

wow nice power output! do u still have stock injectors?i have basically the same mods and 241kw, ive noticed the injector duty is at maximum on the fc with my setup, so i will need bigger injectors to get any more out of it.
