BUT I AM NOW TO INSURE AND ALARM IT ASAP

your pulling my leg right? all the people who have recently got their cars stolen did not have an alarm - it at least acts as a deterrant and can be immobilised. i say go and buy yourself a lottery ticket and count your lucky stars it came back in one piece. on that note, these thieves should be punished and thank god on getting it back.

cops ass they can't defect it. They can defect a car whenever and wherever they see fit. We have no rights whatsoever in that regard. Despite people's ideas, they can defect your car whether you are with it or not, and can defect is whether it is registered or not - even if it's on your own (or someone else's) property.

The only part of that statement I disagree with is the unregistered part - so long as it is not on the road. I don't know for sure though. What I do know is if your car is registered then it has to comply with their regulations - no matter where it is. I've seen cars defected in car yards wihle sitting on the lot.
