old girl blew up last weekend and we suspect ringland damage, thus a new set of pistons is in order.

who has had rb20det pistons made up for their cars and what suppliers?

if you have an order number to go with the pistons please let me know about it as i can use that since the manufacturer would be able to do up a set against a previous order.

interested in wiseco or arias or perhaps even cp pistons......

Not having a lot of luck with that beast, are you carl?

I had a set made for my RB25DET by Australian Precision Engine Parts here in Melbourne. Not sure a RB20DET piston is a stock item, but I can supply them a sample RB20DET piston if you want.

They don't seem to have a website, but the guy lives just down the street.

Pistons (incl gapless rings) are about A$280 each. (US$200)

    • I love the undertray, especially the flappy bit for easier access for serving I'm thinking of fabing up one at work for the MX5 while I still have access to the metal shop at work with a guillotine and press brake Whilst removing the plastic undertray on the MX5 isn't to hard, I love the idea of a 2 bolt flap as opposed to removing the whole thing
    • Great thank you for that. Yeah that is the bumper and spoiler it still has i just hadn't heard of it being referred to as a aero form bumper before. Really appreciate your help.
    • A little progress; I took the opportunity of an oil change to take a sample for oil analysis, will be interesting to see how it was treated for its first 125,000klm (I know how it has been treated since ) I went with 5w40 and will see what that does for oil pressure at higher revs. Also fitted the Z1 front undertray....a little more sturdy than the plastic factory one (although I suspect it won't stop a tree stump ) Nicest thing about it really is the 2 bolt "service panel"....a gift to the oil changer compared to removing 14 bolts holding the factory tray.
    • I think a scissor lift is better/faster in most cases, but I guess it does obstruct access to the centre of the car? BTW I weighed the quick jack. 3.5 tonne model is 50kg for each side. So yes, portable, but not with one finger
    • Not a huge update because still waiting for some fittings for the intake. But I did corner weigh the car, its enough to make a GTR driver cry at 1163kg (race ready except no fuel)  Sorry about the terrible pics but I think they are readable With 70kg driver
