The Petrol I'm Using For Now

Because of the ultimate shortage at the moment i'm using shell optimax, I just filled up a tank last night. Is this ok for the time being?

Also I am getting a PFC+Tune in a few weeks, I'm thinking the best thing to do now is wait till ultimate is back to normal and then get it tuned on that fuel, am I right?

considering they are both high octane fuels one would assume its a fairly obvious answer.

who cares most fuels are similar if they are 98. People wank on a lot about I use ultimate etc...

They are both 98RON.

Only differences are small differences in the little additives that each company puts into their fuel. I very much doubt it would make any differences when tuning.

I interchangably use Vortex98, Optimax or BP Ultimate. I have not encountered any problems.

word. i think 1 person said they prefferred ultimate, and everyone got on it thinking it was something miles ahead of the rest.

they're all 98 RON, so i think they'll all do the job.

Being a tight arse I have coles and woolies vouchers i.e. shell and caltex

so I try to fill up at those if the price is reasonable.

I usually fill up when the price is good even if I still have near a 1/2 tank (still about $40!!)

If your tuning it to the best possible fuel and then you use some other fuel that isn't as good you could do engine damage. Why limit yourself to one fuel. Batches at different servos will vary all the time anyway depending how recently they cleaned filters etc...how clean there tanks are ectc
