For those that follow Rallying as I do and especially the Brits, this news has emerged over the last 24 hours:

All I can say is it is a total shock to me as there was no advance warning of any kind. I originally doubted it but courtesy of the ford site I belong to in the UK, it has emerged as correct.

I am in total shock with this as the last I heard, he was on the mend and looking forward to a comeback.

This definately came out of nowhere, I had no idea he was ill at all.

I'm saddened by this news. Like many,I wasn't aware he was so close to death;I knew he had troubles,but didn't think they were life-threatening. The World will be poorer for the passing of such a talented driver,and,from what I understand,a genuinely nice bloke. R.I.P. Mr Burns;you are badly missed!
