Hi All

i have read the tires and fitments thing in sticky here and cant find anyone else running 275s???

I am running 17 x 9.5 with 15+ offset wheels, and want some 275x40x17 tires.

will they or wont they fit under my gaurds? that is the question. lol

I will at least need to get gaurds rolled i assume that.

im currently running 245s easily

thanks

Michael

I use 255/40/17 which seams a fairly common fitment with an R32 GT-R. Looking at a brochure that turned up with my CAMS mag yesterday the 255 tyre is $398 whereas the 275/40/17 is $470. This in a Toyo Proxes RA-1. So I suppose the question is - how much do you want that extra 20mm?

lol

i have some tires available to me i really want.

and i can have asap in 275. so really want to see if they cna fit under

but yeah 245 & 255 seem nice for street. but the tires im after are a more track orientated item...

depends how low the car is, and how much castor (and to a lesser degree camber) you are running. the rears should be ok, but you may have trouble with the fronts i reckon.

Hi Michael, as usual the numbers tell the story;

A 9.5” rim is 241 mm wide

A 275 tyre is 275 mm wide

That’s 34 mm of “bag”, which is OK for a drag application.

But not so good for a circuit or road application where cornering forces come into focus.

If I was using the car for circuit/road use then 245’s or 255’s would be a better (faster) option for me.

:) cheers :)
