Hey guys

just showing the dyno results of when i got my power fc installed and tuned at fist last month.

set on 10 psi roughly

power fc Ap Engineering

FMIC

CES RAcing split dump

Hiflow 3 inch cat

3" exhaust

Tell us if anything doesn't look right

It does seem to be pretty smooth to drive

I have also noticed that, sometimes when i get in the car to start it has the clickin sound but doesnt start

wait for a bit then starts

im thinking it could be my battery, or coils or something don't know

seems alright at the moment, and voltage has been on 14.1 when driving.

THanks

needs to be done on the dyno unfortunately, they connect a sensor to the exhaust to take the readings. I am not 100% sure but i would imagine they would lean it out by removing fuel from the map cells. U could do this yourself with the hand controller but not recommended as u will have no idea when it becomes too lean.

Where did u get it tuned?

powerfc, batmbl dump pipe and hiflo cat, r33 gtr cooler, straight though 3" exhaust (made 30rwkw with this exhaust over the blitz i had before), powerfc boost controller, pod, custom plenum

exhaust has taken a bit of getting use to, especially with the blitz jobby before being not much louder than stock

truth be told, i love how she sounds now

slightly droney, but have decent sound system in car that doesnt make it an issue

did a run down to stanthorpe with full load and passengers never complained once, so cant be too bad

yer, i was happy with mercury

initial tune was 162rwkw with the old exhaust which i was pretty disappointed with

but more than happy now

plan is to high flow the stocko turbo when it falls appart or when i save the cash

wifey has to drive the car and its our daily driver, so cant go too crazy

i got it tuned at FIST

but was thinking of checking out matty spry at the gold coast as heard  good news from him .

And i dont have a hand controller with my power fc, might have to get one .

What mods have you got spooks ?

Good idea to go see another tuner :O From memory matty actually has some real qualifications. I dont thing anyone else really does.

Also try 101 motorcafe.

sounds good spooks, i'm hiflowing the stocker aswell in the future

i'll see how the car goes for the time being

but next tune will be definately be with another mob .

see how they go

might do fuel pump next, get it out of the way.

Thanks for the help

Let yas know how the next tuner goes.

hi fella,

i get my 33 tuned by chiptorque on the gold coast (where matt spry used to work)

they are awesome. lachy the owner really knows the power fc unit well and i heard he got fc edit and datalogit which should save you some cash come dyno time. my 33 has a fmic, power fc and 3/4 exhaust and pulled 185.3rkw with solid afr of 12.1.

cant wait to get back on the dyno for a retune now with cam gears, full pump, reg and ces dump pipe fitted. hopefully should see 200rkw on stock turbo.

just giving you another option come tune time.

cheers glenn

Baz, comparing it side by side with spooks graph it is a good result.

You got 187 and he got 192rwkw. A 5kw margin.

Both have similar mods except you have 2 psi less boost, AFR is 1.2 lower and you have a street exhaust (cat).

Oh, and the inlet temps on his are 44 as opposed to 22. Not sure what the equation is but pretty sure if yours read 44 you might have even seen higher than him.

At the end of the day, dyno charts are holding less and less credibility as time goes past so take it with a grain of salt.

Nice result.

By those readings on my dyno chart

would it class as being a safe reading ???

cause with afr's and inlet temps, wouldnt have a clue of what a optimum level it should be at, to be the most effecient and power.

Would it be worth while gettin my car tuned again as soon as i can

cause too me my car seems to be running quite smooth

But have noticed ( not frequently) the engine warning light flicker while under load)

not sure if its just the power fc learning ( if it does or not)

or timing is just so far advanced

THanks for your comment FATGTS-R

    • If I had "perfect R33 GTR" kinda money I would have bought one of the crazy expensive low mileage HJA cars, but I am sadly not that wealthy. I already picked this car out of various Skylines for sale locally, most of which were worse in some way. Only a few cars were actually better but also more expensive. In terms of buying a motor locally, I at least have the option to inspect it myself and juding the seller as a person, and used or freshly rebuilt engines that some people sell are actually ok price-wise. I knew the car was going to require work, but shit piled up real fast and I haven't even driven 1000km yet as the turbo started oiling like a bitch within a few weeks after I got the car.   I assume it wasn't actually me who cracked it, though there is no way to know when that crack formed and if the previous owner even knew it was there. Buying another 05U Block can be a gamble, yeah, but the cheapest PRP cast block is like twice or more money-wise, and billet is 3 or 3 times as much. For now I am most likely just keeping the current engine, as a rebuild or engine swap isn't happening right now. But I am seriously considering buying a second engine and selling mine in return. Might be a sweet deal at the end.
    • Hi all. I need some help buying the correct size banjo bolts for my 2860 turbos. Because whoever installed them tore up the original part, I ordered new ones of this kind, because I just figured these were the most leak-resistant option as I already had trouble with a shitty braided line. I need to know the thread size of the smaller left hole, that is the turbo oil feed connection. I found out so far that the turbo oil inlet apparently has a 7/16"-24 thread, but I cannot find any listing or description of the thread size on this line. I do not have the original bolts. I tried using the bolts that were in the turbos (the ones that were mounted with the shitty braided line) but they sit very loosely so they can't be the right thread. Means either these bolts are the wrong ones (how do they fit the turbo then? no clue) or the wraparound-lines have a different thread than the turbo oil feed itself. Help is appreciated, asking Nissan directly is obviously not going to work.
    • EDIT: PSA to whoever stumbles upon this thread. It is in fact a crack in the block that caused this concern. Just letting you know. In my case, a few cm long hairline crack going horizontally above the turbo oil feed. Classic RB shit I guess
    • Might as well pop in some cams, head gasket, head studs, and a flex sensor. Full send.
