Caster Rods

Hey guys, I need to replace my caster rods or at least the caster rod bushes on my R33, does anyone know a place in VIC close to melb that will do a good job? and would they stock the bushes or rods?

why not just replace them with adjustable castor arms

hey guys im just a bit confused, whats the difference between:

* castor rods

* tie rods

* Tension Rods

Castor rods = Tension rods - they control the suspension from moving back / forward.

Tie rods are part of the steering mechanism - connect the steering rack to the wheel hub.

Din,

Best to pair the caster rods (or bushes) with a camber bush. Reason being that winding in more positive caster will reduce the static camber. If you are out of adjustment on -ve camber you will be simply trading more +ve caster for less -ve camber. In short losing -ve camber at the across the range of steering lock for more -ve camber when lock is applied. (Hope that makes sense)

The solution is to use a camber bush as well as the caster rod/bush to get the gains of the increased caster without losing the benefits of -ve camber.

ye i think ill go a set of adjustable caster rods! getting a set and also fitting done...for $300. is that a good price u guys reckon?

well they do take about 10 or 15 minutes to fit. it depends on the qaulity of the rods as to whether or not it's a good price.
